I know fresh vegetables are much better, but for dinner sometimes, its more convenient with the canned stuff. The only added ingredient is water, is this considered okay?
They are not very nutritious at all. They are depleted of their vitamins and nutrients and loaded with sodium. Fresh or frozen is better. IMO if you can't eat fresh or frozen then there is no point in eating them.
Frozen veggies are "flash frozen" and retain almost all of their nutrients.
Besides what else was mentioned here... they just taste much, much better.
I microwave the frozen varieties in a bowl (covered loosely) with just enough water to create steam to cook - and just long enough to heat them. Nothing could be easier than that!
