Well you can't win them all. I placed 6th in the show this Saturday. It was a real good show. A lot of awesome commpetitors. The judges said I came in too hard for this level of a show. Said I would have done better in the body building comp. I didn't carb load, so I think next time I will just to smooth out a little. It is not the look I perfer, but I will do what ever it takes to keep going.

Congrats on competing again :)

Don't worry about it, I'm sure you tried your best and you looked great. :D It's a learning process and everytime you compete the judges will always be looking for something different. I'm sure you will figure out what you need to do for next time. :D

You ever thought about doing bodybuilding?

Now get us some pics :p

it usually takes about a week before they're posted...

these are 4 days out from the show:

Excellent ...

It would drive me crazy not knowing from one comp to the next what the judges were looking for.

Thank you Jodi, You are so sweet and helpful. I read a lot of your posts and you give out a lot of great advice.

I did do body building once, a few years ago. Actually it is what I wanted to do in this show because that is how I have been training. I have spent a lot of time trying to put on size, but for some reason, Rob really wants me doing figure. I think he feels that I would need a lot more size. Legs are not my high point. Local level I might do okay, but at a national level I would really struggle. I think he feels that I will go further in figure. We'll see. I compete again in Sept. I guess I will have to train a little different. :)

Thanks Gena :)

I think you could do bodybuilding, just focus on bringing up your legs. Of course this is my opinion and I don't want to cause any friction  You definately have the level of leanness for it.

Either way, I think you'll do great and I can't believe you are doing another comp in September. You got some strong will power and dedication :thumb:

I just do not like female bodybuilding competition, and to go anywhere with it drugs are necessary, whereas in Figure they're not.

Also I think it is a dying sport, especially with the way fitness and figure have exploded these last few years.

That's what natural bb comps are for. Jodie just entered one and took the show. :D I'm doing my first in 12 weeks. :)

In NPC the further you go with figure the more drugs they use just with any competition. I've seen alot of women enter figure that were using and that was just at the local level.

I'm not saying they are but at some point you will run across it.

As long as she is enjoys it than that's all that matters. :)

To me, if I was told I could win in figure instead of bb that would not stop me from competing in bb. I tried figure and I didn't care for it so I want to do bb building now. Even if I never win at bb, at least I'm doing what I want to do and what I enjoy. :)

Just because they may not "look" like they juice, doesn't mean that they don't. Most use some form of winny, anavar, cytomel, etc to get them where they want to be. In figure and fitness, they just don't talk about what they use. From my past experience in doing figure and plus the people I do know, I know for a fact that most use.

I know I will not place well in figure, doesn't really matter to me. I do it because I like too, not to win. I'm not willing to go the route of the chemistry set to improve myself. Like Jodi, I'm happy to do either the bbing or figure, but will continue to do so naturally.

First let me say...Gena...you looked great...awesome pics.....you'll get em' next time!

As far as figure and roids:

Drugs are not always needed in figure to do fairly well as long as you have good genetics...especially in the legs and butt. Implants seem to help too which pisses me off since it shouldnt be about that. One judge told Jodie she would place higher if she had implants.

However...most of the top girls do use some pharmaceuticals...usually anavar like Jodie mentioned....it is a very low androgenic drug with low side effects and is oral.....usually they stack this with cytomel to get their legs lean.

Of course they dont take high dosages as they want to avoid that "hard" look and facial changes. Chances are if it's an NPC show there are a few girls on stuff...and if its a high level NPC show like a national qualifier or jr nationals...they all take something.

Jodie does the NPC figure shows and she is all natural...she just makes sure that she always improves herself from show to show and does the best she can....she just enjoys the goal and the competition...she would love to win....and one day i believe she will if she sticks to it...it's just a heck of alot harder for her since she doesn't have any "help"

Great job! You look awsome once again.

I think your "cut" and "hardness" are beautiful. Congrats on a great effort.......................take care............Rich

That really sucks. That should play no part in any of it. I got mine long before I was ever involved in weight lifting for lack of self esteme. I hope that doesn't play a part in my placing, or effect the girls that don't have them.

Thank you for your complment.

Thank you, it was the look I was going for, even if it wasn't what they were looking for. It is fun for me to see how far I can take my self. I have never been able to lean out my legs that this, so in my mind I won.

Congrats Gena! :thumb:
