Carbs at Breakfast?

fruit, oat bran, fiberOne or all-bran w/ extra fiber

I live on oats, but you could have sweet potatoes, barley, quinoa...any whole grain.

Is All-bran any good? I keep hearing stuff about it. But it seems like soo much fiber...Like how much All-bran would I need to actually equal 45-50g carbs (what I have in my morning cup of oats)?

It seems the GI of All-bran is very low so that is a definite plus.

I eat All-Bran regularly at my college cafeteria. It looks like pet food and doesn't taste very good.

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP IN EVERYTHING!!!!?

Ingredients:
Wheat bran, oat fiber, wheat flour, calcium phosphate, salt, baking soda, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, calcium carbonate, aspartame, sodium ascorbate and ascorbic acid (vitamin C), niacinamide, reduced iron, annatto color, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), riboflavin (vitamin B2), folic acid, zinc oxide, vitamin A palmitate, thiamin hydrochloride (vitamin B1), BHT (preservative), vitamin B12, and vitamin D.

It has a long shelf life. And it's cheap to produce.

Mostly oats and fruit. Sometimes I have eggs and rice right away, or a steak and potaotes. then later i have eggs. i am weird lol

Potatoes, Oats, whole bread.

Besides ww bread , oats and bagels, what do you folks eat a breakfast with eggs for a good carb source?
Bagels?!

Anyway - Oat bran + Fruit are my favourite...

But you can do anything really... Make yourself a frittata with some chick-peas or add some chunks of sweet potato... you could make sweet potato pancakes or sweet potato bread.... Make a asian breakfast and have some brown rice in a miso broth with some egg whites..... etc etc..

Just because it is not 'typical' breakfast food doesn't mean you can't use it at breaky! ;)

ps: I wouldn't touch all bran so if you want to increase fibre I suggest you try shredded wheat bran or psyllium added to your oats...

You still think that's true with Total? That article is from 1994.

Better safe then sorry.

I've been living off oatmeal flapjacks for breakfast for years.

3 apples, 3 Bananas, 200ml apple juice, 100g chopped mixed nuts & seeds (hazelnuts, brazils, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, pistachios etc) and 600g oats.

Place the chopped apples, bananas & juice in a blender & puree. Mix in the oats & nuts, put the mix into a lightly greased baking tray & bake for about 45min at 180 C.

I cut these into 12, and three of these plus a protein drink for breakfast/post workout just cannot be beat.

That sounds frickin' delicious...

I'm on no carbs after mid-afternoon, so imagine how delicious they are after 18 hours without carbs and a workout.
