i heard that calories were worse for u than carbs so i'm on a low calorie diet. i eat mayb 1500 calories. the only problem i have is: how many carbs do i need to eat?? i mean i'm 14 and weigh 195 pounds so i am over weight and i'm tryin to get to 160 pounds. how many carbs shuld i eat if i eat only 1500 calories a day and i run 2-3 miles a day?????(this burns mayb like 200-250 calories)

Calories are a unit of energy.

Carbs are a macronutrient

Each g of carbs equals approx 4 calories.

i thought calories made u fat and carbs gave u energy but if u ate too much or didn burn all of it up, u gained weight

Calories are in everything you eat. They are the unit of energy that is available from the food source

@ 14 the last thing you should worry about is low carbing, or high protein or whatever name diet.

Focus on eating healthy food choices. Check the stickies at the top of the forum, to lead you in the right direction.

so shuld i jus stick to eating plenty of healthy stuff and running alot? cuz i heard running is the best way to lose weight.

Eating healthy and being active is the best way to keep the weight in check.

Do activities you enjoy. Don't run, because "you think it is the best for weightloss" Do it cause it is fun.

The key to your success will be proper food choices and portion sizes.
