Casein

Casein takes longer to digest, therefore would be the optimal choice to take before going to bed. With whey digesting much faster, it would be best for a breakfest shake and/or post w/o. I think a combination of both if one could afford it would be best.

+1 buy plain unflavoured casein, I mix it into all my shakes at varying percentages. It's a great all-round anti catabolic agent.

Thanks for the responses. I thought of adding fiber, fat ect... to slow down the digestion of whey, but if I do that at night I get heartburn, where if I take just a shake it's fine, but then I don't get the slow release. I also don't like adding the extra calories. The casein I found is actually cheaper than the whey I take, so that's a big plus as well.
So i'm sold -lol-
I was going to buy Optimum Nutrition (4 pounds) for $40. Anyone know of anything better?

Wow! 4lbs for $40? May I ask where I can get that deal? I use the vanilla - it's the one with almost no fat/carbs.
