I'm starting to hear quite a few radio/TV ads as well as magazine ads regarding COQ10 and/or resveratrol. Is there any scientific/proven data to show these are beneficial for bodybuilders??

CO-Q-10 or Co-Enzyme Q-10 is a key co-enzyme for generating energy at the cellular level. Anyone doing heavy exercise needs to supplement with Co-Q-10 ( Ubibquinone) or the Reduced form which is more bioavailable ( Ubiquinol). The most important energy generating organ in your body is your heart. Any exercise takes CO-Q-10 from your heart cells and needs to be replaced.

Resveratrol is the polyphenolic compound found in Red Wine which is implicated with long life. It also will help your heart by dilating your arterial tissue.

CO-Q-10 is A MUST

CO-Q-10 is a must to prevent Heart Trouble. Body Building will take CO-Q-10 from anywhere in the body. The human heart contains the most ubiquinone and as a result, the muscle cells will take from your heart cells. ( University of Wisconsin study) not mine

CoQ10 has benefits to the heart and as an anti-oxidant. There is still some debate on it's benefit for healthy adults. It's hardly a must.

It depends on what your goals are. If you are into life extension through healthy living and supplementation, it could be considered a must.

If you are like most of the meatheads on the site that are just looking to improve their lifts, the results probably won't be noticeable.

Exactly, most of us don't want to spend a bunch of money on supplements that work on faith. The whole "trust me it's working" is bullshit. If you wanna believe it fine, but don't pretend it's a must for anybody.

Ubiquinol Reduce CO-Q-10

The Well Known Cardiologist Dr. Stephen Sinatra was quoted as saying that if he had known the real value of CO-Q-10 and or Ubiquinol years ago, he could have saved quite a number of his patients. That is quite a statement from an M.D. who as a group have never advocated natural products

Don't get me wrong, I like CoQ10... that doesn't make it a must for bodybuilders. We aren't talking about people in their 50s+ that are at risk for hearth disease. The audience of this site is mostly younger and care more about their muscle size than their long term health... just check out the steroid section :)

I have to agree. I take CoQ10 because I'm at the stage of my life were living disease and injury free is more important then what allot of the young pups here do by wanting to put on massive muscle and worry about any health side effects later.
Definitely not a must in the bodybuilding world.

Appreciate all the input. I'm like both sets of personalities here. I'm looking to build my muscles like the "meatheads" and I also want to stretch my life out a little longer. I bought a dbl bottle of 60 tans each from Walmart for 50% off so thought I'd give it a try. I've been taking it now for a couple of weeks and haven't noticed any change so in my opinion not worth the money at this point. I'll have to see if my opinion changes after I finish the 60 day regimen.
