Chest Flies

Has anyone ever performed the Chest Flies where you pull with your chest from the bottom until your pectorals are completely clenched? My friend was telling me to give them a try so I obviously gave them a whirl.

I thought that my chest was feeling pretty good, perhaps it was because it was after a long chest day last week..

Thoughts?
 
Compounds are better in most cases, Bench Press ftw.
 
I don't understand what you mean... Can you give that description with more detail or in another way?

Using this machine to perform the exercise, you lower the two things to the ground, lock them in. After that, you grab a hold of each as if you were doing a normal cable chest fly, except you pull up using your chest with your arms stretched out until about shoulder high before returning to the regular position with your arms back at your side.

Really hard to explain...

Compounds are better than cable flies in all cases. Anybody that does solely cable flies for there chest is a fucking moron. Thanks for absolutely no help at all!

So you're standing, and you're bringing your hands from about hip height to shoulder height while performing the fly motion?

If that's the case, I would think it's a good idea. It utilizes both main functions of the chest at the same time: shoulder adduction and flexion.

Wouldn't you be pulling instead of pushing?

Right. I see now. It seems like you could do a lot more pushing from the top down then the bottom up.
