I already have the loan and have found the following cars
1976 corvette Stingray
1978 Camaro
and a few 60's mustang coupes

the vet and the camaro are about the same price and both have bored 350's in em. Vet is automatic which is fine with me cause I already have a little sporty stickshift, and wouldnt be racing the classic much if at all, mostly just for cruising. Camaro is a 4 speed Stick.

The fallback on the Vet is that is it doesnt have a title, but I can get that if the VIN is clean. The vets body is in good shape, The brakes are the main thing that need work.

The camaro is slightly cheaper then the vet, and is in a little better shape overall. the engine bay looks pretty clean and well maintained.

the mustangs are the cheapest, and though still running, look like they may have frame issues or somthing.

Stingray. Classier.

My father had a Corvair he was "restoring" for about 20 years. Had a vette 350 engine and drive shaft (trans?) with matching numbers, put the engine in the backseat. The smell of quickstart brings back memories.

I thought we were in a recession?

haha Quickstart, thats awesome, I've definitely been there..and if we are in a recession the only thing that meens for me is that people will sell their old cars cheaper cause they need the cash. I'll be stimulating the economy.

I'm a fan of El Camino's.

Of the list I'd go with the Stingray.

I would go with the mustang. Those are horrible years for the corvette and camaro, they will yeild no money for resale.

Yeah, that Camino is tight. I went with the Stingray cuz 60's Mustangs look like garbage and they are bigtime played out. '80 Corvette would be my choice for that body style.

3500 bucks? thats cheap as hell... A buddy of mine brought up a good point that ruled out the stingray, he said since the stingray was obtained in a slightly shady manner, not stolen but through a bunch of trades with no title and no bill of sales from the original owner, the original owner could come up with the 1st title and take it back.
