Not making excuses, I am just saying that you never know what could be the real story.
Since the video's whole point is to convey as much of the real story I think we do know, not only can you tell someone has an itchy trigger finger, but the government covered it up and on top of everything else high command decided not to help the 2 injured children but sent them off to be treated in the half ass facilities the Iraqi's call hospitals...

The general public is so naive when it comes to the US military, the majority think that our military adheres to the Geneva convention and does not engage in torture or other hostile acts, give me a break. There is so much classified shit that happens that would blow your mind, its the stuff no one except those involved know about. My only point is the US is not as righteous as most think they are. I knew rangers and recon soldiers, they are the ones that do all of the nasty dirty work that you will never hear about, which is probably a good thing for most because you might think different about the US government, how power hungry and corrupt it really is.

Whoever asked me about being in combat, no I did not go to war but I had many friends that did, and I don't need to go to combat to know what I know. I was in the Army and I did spend time in the field with infantry (I was a medic) and I know how sick and stupid most of those fuckers are.

Joking aside. Do you really think the US military is alone in this? Do you not think that brutality and attrocities have been committed universally in war time by most every society on earth since the beginning? Just imagine if during WWI, when our freedom, as well as that of our allies, actually was at stake, what the outcome would have been if we'd tried to fight the japs and germans in a politically correct manner and the soldiers had the media following them and looking over their shoulders, anxious to report and exaggerate any and every human rights violation they witnessed. There's no question who would have been victorious. It wouldn't have been the good guys.

Good friend of mine was in Force Recon for ten years. Did stuff that was fun and stuff that still haunts him. Clear buildings you leave nothing alive behind. Clearing a town, same rule. The Marines trained him to be a killer so that's what he was for a while. When he got out he was one of the lucky few who adjusted to a normal life.

These guys had Eyes On, they knew the van was blue, plus they have their camera they could see at least in the end the men loading the wounded reporter in the van weren't armed they were rendering aid, firing on them was an act of murder....

I agree mostly. Especially the Japanese. Those guys were more brutal and horrific than the Nazis. But, the key point here was that our freedom really was at stake, and I am proud of every troop that fought in WWII. It was clear who the enemy was and what we had to do to win.

But, every war since WWII has been about power and politics. I think most people would kill to save their life, their family, and to remain free. Many people wouldn't kill just for power and dominance alone.

I see the biggest threat to my freedom coming from within our own borders. The US government has become a beast that can not be fed. I had a lot more freedom 10 years ago. I watch my civil liberties evaporating day by day, and it isn't the Taliban's work.

And the military mysteriously cannot find this video.

Military can’t find Iraq video
Clip was withheld from Reuters after 2007 request
April 6, 2010

WASHINGTON - The U.S. military said Tuesday it can't find its copy of a video that shows two employees of the Reuters news agency being killed by Army helicopters in 2007, after a leaked version circulated the Internet and renewed questions about the attack.

Capt. Jack Hanzlik, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command, said that the military has not been able to locate the video within its files after being asked to authenticate the version available online.

"We had no reason to hold the video at (Central Command), nor did the higher headquarters in Iraq," Hanzlik said in an e-mailed statement. "We're attempting to retrieve the video from the unit who did the investigation."

having spent some time in the US Army I can tell you that the majority of infantry soldiers are idiots.

I am from a military town.

Again, sending American high graduates into the military, means their mind can be molded, and yes, many don't know about the country they're in.

The video also shows that this camera was an "AK-47, and an RPG."
