Cop and criminals questions

1. If you are driving and you get pulled over by a cop but your intention is to run away from the cop, why dont criminals wait until the cop park the car, get out of his vehicle and then run? It would give the criminal more time.

2. Would cops pursue you if you were walking down the street but as a joke, you looked at them like you were afraid when you saw the cops. Then you would say loud "Oh fuck" then you run, everything as a joke. Would cops run to get you?

3. Let say you actually rob or kill someone in the streets and a cop saw you, then he starts running to get you but you go inside your house and lock everything. He says "Open up! Open this fucking door! Police!", you say behind your door, holding a cup of tea and with an english accent. "I am sorry Sir but do you have a warrant?" Does that work?

Some do do that but 99% of criminals are just shy of retarded, if they were really smart they would wait until the cop is out, throw it in reverse smash the cops car so he can't chase them and then run....

I've done this a couple of times to the one cop our small town had, he was fat so we figured we'd help him lose weight. We would see him coming and take off running down alley's that his car couldn't go down, he would get out and start chasing. We never got caught and it was always too dark to see who we were...

Not if in active pursuit of a suspect....I'm not 100% positive...if he's a good cop he'd worry you might have a hostage and thus not barge in, if he's an even better cop he'd say "Yeah here's your fuckin warrant signed by The honorable Smith and Wesson" BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM CLICK CLICK "CONSIDER YOURSELF SERVED"

LOl, It's been so long since I commented on this board, but I couldn't resist this one....

But firts, why would u ask these questions? Are you interested in performing such acts? If yes, then why? Why would you do hardship to the people who protect you from harm everyday?..........Ok, now to your answers, I have encountered your questions NUMEROUS times, your first, is a good one. People do that all the time, I have initiated pursuits such as these more than once, and not ONCE have they gotten away, simply because it takes me 2 seconds to get on the radio and get someone to the next street corner where the "bad guy" is driving to, plus those new chargers are bad ass fast!

Second....You say as a "joke?" Explain the expressions you would make that indicates your are joking? and how would anyone know that?....This one is more about common sence and situational awarenes...If im walking thru a drug park where two guys just made some strange hand movements, yes I could justify and elaborate a suspicious circumstance. I have tho encountered stupid hippy skater kids who pull that "joke" on me, I simply look away and thank god for stupid people, less competition for me in life and my future kids....


Third, is my favorite one, especially with rich kids during a party....There is something called a "fresh pursuit" AND "exigent circumstances" that allow a officer to use his discretion that enter wihtout a warrant. I Love this one becasue the as we call them "back street lawyers" are always so confused when the door gets kicked open and they hit the ground with 200 pounds on top of their back. If a "bad guy" is running away form me and into a house (happens all the time) infact it happened to me 8 days ago, then this would fall into a "fresh pursuit" policy and the door comes down and he get's taken down...Even more is that if you slam the door into a cops face during ANY criminal investigation (like lets say a stupid loud party call where rich kids think they dont have to play by the rules and slam the door shut during my investigation) Police can (and I have this summer) kick the door open and arrest the person for intefeering with a police investigation and ofcrouse continue the investigation.....I kicked in a door for that exact same reaosn this summer and the dumb kid was leaning right against it trying to show off that he knows his right, he ended up with a bloody nose from the door being kicked in, and then I explained him MY RIGHTS, often people don't realise that cops havee rights too, which are quite extensice, simply because not one situation is the same, so common sence (which half the populations of SHEEP, another term military and law enforcement uses for people) DO NOT HAVE...


Im sorry to ramble on so much but at least you will be one more educated person to know that police are here to help and protect you, all the good cop movies make for good entertainment but do not show the real side of police work...

I thought about that but I didnt want to give any ideas to criminals that would result in someone getting killed because I gave that idea. It is like the helicopter question and the gun questions that I never asked.

Well, I don't think that would work very well, sure it has worked once in the past (not to my knowlege but im sure it happens)...But smashing my car is really hard to do when you are parked 2 car lenghts apart (at the most) meaning you would ave to pick up some serious speed to disable my car, not probable...But if, then there would still be others waiting on you down the street.....

No, I got my BA and working on my masters, Became a cop becasue it was something i always wanted, now I pretty much hate it becasue i dont like the buourocratic/political aproach of "sugarcoating" things to people, I like to be real and honet with the people I deal wiht and sometimes my department doesn't want to admit that some problems just wont go away no matter how hard we try.....My plan is to move to europe and work for the american embasy in Sarajevo (bosnia)..my birth place...

I was thinking about it but I don't like to push papers all day, especially while still being in a law enforcement capacity...I don't want to be in law enfrocement any more becasue it is slowly killing me inside... the problem is that I really really like the actual job of going out and arresting bad guys, and I am good at it, even tho they get released on "over crowding" a few hours later, and then we get blamed for it....the feds in my opinion (work with the all the time) are good at paperwork but dont have a clue as to waht to do in chaotic and critical incidents....So ill let someone else be a thankless slave to society and go on my mary way.... In my opinion, if we continue to treat our nations officers in this matter, we will have no one left to do the job we couldn't exist without, same for teachers....In my city, we have ONLY 300 people applying for 20 positions every year, and 6-12 of them get filled becasue it is realy hard to find people who pass all the testing...It will get worse....I feel so passionate about it that I keep rambling on ... Maybe someday I can help have my countries police force to have the same ethical standarts and efficiency rates as we have over here....
