I wonder if ice cream would have settled junior down? Of course that's just asking for more meltdowns.

The officer was definitely the one to take whatever action might have been called for, though. Any teacher touching the child could have found themselves being interviewed by a detective for their troubles.

Using rewards for kids to make good grades is a BAD IDEA.

I went to a school that did that, for about 3-4 months...Long story short, the smart kids will get picked on EVEN more because they'll be receiving treats while the dummies get nothing.

One year in 5th grade my guidance counselor(aka my assigned mind spy) bought me one of those huge cookies and I got to invite 5 friends to eat pizza and the cookie with me at lunch...all because I was a quiet kid who they thought might be suicidal or something I don't know, but it was funny to me...I was being rewarded for being sullen and mysterious....

• Phone calls home
• Losing recess
• Having to listen to me say "Let's be reasonable!" and "Time out!"

lol Maybe the guidance counselor simply wanted to reward you for being a reasonable child and a pleasure to be around. Sullen and mysterious trumps enraged and hyperactive any day?
