For breakfast while dieting(cutting), what should i have in the form of carbs? i know i cant have oats like my off-season diet. should i have fruits?

Also, is one veggie meal a day too low? i usually have one veggie meal for my last "food meal" of the day.

oats are fine while cutting.... fruits are ok as well.

One veggie meal is too low.... you should be aiming for 4 servings.

Why can't you have oats? If you reduce your total caloric intake you will still get cut if you eat oats. Or fruit. It really doesn't matter as long as you creat a caloric defecit.

As far as veggies go, I would eat way more than that. Not just for my health but to relieve the hunger associated with cutting calories.

Besides, Barabara Rolls did a study once which proved that people eat about the same volume of food each day and not the same number of calories.

So if you eat more high volume/low calorie foods you will reach satiety with fewer calories.

Personally I would not even attempt to diet (I'm already relatively thin so I have to go down to 10cal/lb to lose) without at least 5 or 6 servings of veggies a day.

Eat your veggies, if you have to cram them all in one meal that's better than not eating any but then you'll probably be all gassy and bloated so it's best to spread them out throughout the day. I generally do them in my last three meals/snacks.

You need more veggies than that. It's easy. Add spinach, peppers, mushrooms etc.. to your eggs. Salads, side veggies etc...

Ok thanks for the veggie advice, i figured i was low.

As for oats, i was watching a video with Dave Palumbo and Evan Centopani and some other guy and they were cooking at chatting. Then Dave said something like, Oh ya you're not eating oats because your dieting(he was getting ready for a show). so i was a little confused cuz i thought oats were ok while cutting.

and about calories, it's not everything. im not just going to make a caloric deficiency and thats it. ya i need to cut the cals but theres no point if im not eating what i need to. i am 215lbs with about 15%bf. im not just a fat guy trying to lose weight, im trying to cut as much FAT as possible, not just any weight.

and i dont wanna be leniant on anything. im not cutting down for fun, im cutting because i need the experience. i plan to do my first show at somewhere between age 21-23 and i need to get everything down.

Hahaha.

It's still about calories. Caloric defecit is the only way to cut "FAT" weight or "any weight".

Perhaps not vegetables for all your 5 or 6 meals but maybe in that 2 or 3 of them. I take mine after school, 4pm and next one at around 9pm or sometime before bed.
