Hi all,

I'm currently cutting and making excellent progress with my diet program.

However, lately I get extreme cravings for sweets just before bedtime. Ordinarily, I don't even like sweets that much. Could somebody explain what that means?

The staple of my diet is:

Chicken breast/Brown Rice/Broccolli combo

And I eat any combination of peripheral foods like:

Apples
Bananas
Cottage Cheese
Low Fat ricotta
Eggs
Lamb
Steak
Potatoes

Why am I craving sweets so much?

Low blood glucose? Would a banana + some cottage cheese do instead of sweets?

Define "sweets" ... are you talking junk food? like candy, pop, chocolate bars, etc? or just the better tasting carbs in general? like cereal, bread, crackers, etc? how many carbs are you eating per day? are you incorporating a refeed?

I ask these Q's because when I was cutting I was keeping my carb intake very low except for around my work outs in which case I'd still only have oatmeal, brown rice or sweet potatoes... eventually after a few days of doing this I would start to crave carbs... hence one of the reasons why a refeed is necessary... not only to refill glycogen storage but to maintain sanity while dieting... after my refeeds I wouldn't crave carbs again for a few days... basically until it was time to refeed again...
