quick question since im just starting creatine. I bought a 4 pound of champion's creatine Xtreme, and a 300 gram of plain optimum creatine powder. my question is can i take the plain optimum powder with orange juice, or would it be better with just water? im saving the champion stuff for later cause its more expensive, and since im just starting creatine, i can get results without a delivery system.

citrus does not work with creatine...i dont know the specifics but i was told NEVER to use it with citrus juices. I use chrystal light when i am dieting.

gatorade is good.

Just buy some cheap bulk dextrose and malto dextrine from 1fast400.com.

Add some flavoring, crystal light, or the sugar free HiC packets or whatever. You cannot do better than that.

tp, right now i only am going through a little 60 serving thing of plain powder, and then switching to one with a delivery system, ive already ordered it so there no turning back. but after this coming football season, when i have time to lift and am using creatine, im going to maybe start hobby of this. i think it would be interesting to try different balances of flavoring and the different sugars and creatine and make my own stuff. maybe i can sell it to my friends, theres a growing number of people on the team taking it.

but if gatorade has citric acid in it and it's fine, and citrus drinks like orange juice are off limits, then whats in orange juice that makes it off limits? and what about kool-aide?

I thought it WAS the acid that is to be avoided, gatorade has citric acid? All flavors or ?

Creatine sitting in ANY liqiud for too long is gonna be bad for integrity.

The fact that creatine can pass through digestive acids and still get to where it works illustrates that the no creatine in OJ is myth.

btw, i wouldn't consider OJ "ideal" either.

In fact, it's a piss-poor transport mechanism in all fairness. I think i'd rather drink it in water and eat some sweets afterwards.

Ideally, some sort of dextrose/maltodextrin concoction.

*points to sig* :D

Gaydarade has sugar which is supposed to be a transport mechanism.

I just stopped taking cell-tech (way too expensive and too much sugar). I am switching to optimum's plain creatine powder. When is the best time to take this? I eat six times a day and workout is at 6pm.

-can it be taken with protein?

-before or after workout?

-I am on a low sugar diet and i dont want to spike my insulin with dextrose or sugars....will I see any results using creatine like this?

Thanks all!!
