Doing the five calorie, sugar free Crystal Light Green Tea additive (artificial sugars) added in my bottled water bad for you in the long run? What effect do these sugars have on your body?

Everything in Moderation.

The science on Aspartame is all over the place.

I drink iced tea with sweet n low HEAVY. No moderation here. I can consume maybe 3/4 gallon if not more of a tea a day(if its made) with maybe 3 packs of sweet and low per 32oz of tea. I dont think it makes any difference(im no scientist) as i have lost over 15lbs in 3 months.

It has less to do with weight loss/gain and more to do with the long term effects of aspartame intake. There aren't any good studies that I'm aware of on the topic. The only ones I know of are performed on lab animals using pretty unrealistic levels of aspartame intake.

I agree with Iain, moderation is key here.

I remember there used to be cancer warnings on sweet n low, but since has been removed.

I wont be adjusting my diet any when it comes to iced tea. Its the only place i use artificial sweetener.

Artifical sweetners have always been one of my biggest concerns. I drink 4-5 bottles of water daily, but by evening I am tired to plain water. I give in and have a diet coke or two. Does anyone believe that diet coke slows weight loss? I can't seem to get the last 10-15 pounds off.

I agree with IainDaniel on both points, but ultimately, artificial sweeteners are not what are going to make or break your diet.

Additionally, I'd be happy to keep drinking diet sodas in exchange for a cancer cell or two some time down the road.

Im sure aspartame is all over the place but only one thing is certain...

If you live in CA, EVERYTHING CAUSES CANCER. (if you live in CA you might understand this as a joke and on a serious note)
