so im focusing on cutting and have been going through a diet regimen and reading a bunch of post and stickies. i think i have a pretty strong diet down for cutting but have a few questions about PA (physical activity)

according to:

Sticky: Guide to Cutting, Bulking & Maintenance

i need to be at ~2000 calories to cut. do i need to worry about my net calories though? (caloric intake - calories burned = net calories)

because i made up the same plan for my wife and her cutting calories are right at 1300. how many calories should she be burning while doing PA? is there a point the where her net calories would be to low?

thanks in advance~!

It really depends on the amount of body fat a person has. If their bf% is high then net calories at -1000 a day shouldnt be a problem. Weight loss should come mainly from fat as long as protein intake is adequate. This should result in a 2lb weight loss per week (in a perfect world).
As you lower your bf then you want to also lower the amount of negative net calories per day to avoid muscle loss. In other words, a person at 10% bf doesnt want to be at -1000 net cals a day because you run a much higher risk of losing muscle at that large of a deficit. Someone at that bf should be closer to -500 net cals a day.
However you get to the calorie deficit is up to you. Diet. Cardio. Combination of diet and cardio. They all work. Personally I do it all by diet alone. I detest cardio.
