I started hitting the gym again in August following about a year-long layoff. I had to miss 5 w/o's in mid-Sept for a vacation (I train MWF) after 5 weeks of training, but this Friday will be 14 straight weeks of training since I got back. I've gained almost 20 pounds since I started (I've gone from about 156 to 175), and am very pleased with my strength gains, but would like to cut maybe 3 or 4 pounds. However, I also think it's about time I rested this aging body (I'm 53), so I'm going to take next week off. Any thoughts on going into a cut immediately following my week off? Or would I be better off getting right back into my usual training and delaying my cut?
