hi. I'm a cagefighter who is trying to make it to the next level. i've never done roids before and i don't know anything about them. i'm 5'9'' 185 lbs and i fight at the 170lbs weight class, so i don't want to gain much weight if any. i could probably cut 5 to 10 lbs of fat. i've been looking around on the net and anavar seems to be the right choice for strength gains without weight gains. i'm wondering if there is somthing i should stack it with to make the most of my cycle, or should i just do it by itself? also, if anyone has any suggestions about length of cycle or how many mg's per day or anything else i might not know about it would be appreciated...

You should probably think about dropping weight to 155lbs and stay away from the gear. At 5'9" you will be giving up most likely a reach advantage trying to go up in weight or resuming at the 170lb class. I know its probably not what you wanna hear but its probably a better choice to be shredded at 155lbs and compete with guys comprable to your height.
2 out of 3 of the top welterweights in the world are 5'9'' and under.... i have thought about moving down but decided against it because i think i'm a better fighter heavy. i appreciate the advise though.

I meant that with all respect. Im a fighter too and I know this is a very mental sport. Lot of areas of strategy to consider. I gather you are a Jiu-jitsu practioner with the name: gogoplata? If this is your main style I can see your point. On the other hand, If you are into a more standup boxing/kick boxing style, I think this skillset would would be better used to your advantage in a 155lb class.
Mikhal ould definetly be able to give really good advice on this as he has credentials in the fight game.

I think whoever gave you knowledge in tha game , did an excellent job. I agree with your observations 100%. I would even go a bit father and say that the game is changing a bit in the sense that tall guys with a good ground game is like trying to grapple a snake. If tha brotha was in my gym and seriously trying to go to tha next level, the idea of giving him every advantage to excel would be forefront. Lower weight class means a faster paced fight and quickness becomes a more important issue than strength . A drop in weight class would be a topic that would be SERIOUSLY discussed only if tha quickness issue was not a concern ( slow at 155 means get'n pieced up bad ! ). HOWEVER styles make fights. A lot of guys with good trainers would be thinking " Sprawl ,angles, distance " and make tha shot seem like it's a mile away against a guy 5"9 170lb. But if tha cat is comfortable and has good defensive stand up skills and understands pop'n off combos short and sharp and shifting body positions in a stand up match ( a rare thing even amongst the very best mma fighters BTW ) , as well as tha importance of a good strong inside/outside low to mid level front leg round kick, then do tha damn thang Homey.
Bottom line if it were me I'd suggest to go wherever you can fight your best with tha least amount of damage. If you have a trainer and management that you trust your career with sit down and discuss your career plans and your next 3 to 4 fights. If you don't have any fights with top tier guys slated , perhaps it wouldn't hurt to take a fight at 55 and see how it feels. That's just my humble opinion, but what do I know
thankyou guys very much for taking the time to help me out. i don't disagree with anything you guys say and you both obviously know what your talking about. still i'm pretty firm about fighting at welter.... i just think it's right for my body.

Thats cool. I respect that! Its like Mikhal summed it up as. Only you know where you are most comfortable. As far as using gear, what did you have in mind? You obviously dont want to bulk up. You just looking to cut up and get that strength edge? Since you are into MMA I would stay away from the Winstrol. Im told this is hard on your ligaments. Not good for an MMA fighter. My advice is to read up on gear a whole bunch before you make the decision to use. You can really screw yourself up if you dont do it right. Ask alot of questions if you arent sure. The moderators are willing to help you. Ive learned a ton off this site alone. Good Luck!
