This brings up the question if they can get so big off of body weight exercises maybe weights are not the answer to muscle hypertrophy. It is kinda blasphemy for me to say such a thing(much like a power lifter talking about nutrition and vegetables.) and i do think weights are the most important thing for muscle, but just as an idea.

no doubt. it is really cool. it sucks that some are so genetically blessed that they can get away with that. i work with a kid that has a genetically good structure. he does pretty much nothing. but is upper body is always thick and muscular. I hate it. If he worked as hard as I do and with his genetics, he could really be a big dude. I just have shit bag genetics but a good work ethic.
 
i have a friend alll he does is bodyweight exercises like them in the park and hes huge, if i could do bodyweight exercises i would do them alot, but imm too heavy for my strength
 
If one is very naturally muscular upper or lower without doing anything would they suffer from the all show no go syndrome? Shit bag genetics? Well i would love to have that back lol. Can you do pull ups for exercise reps? Me to man i can't really do pull ups or dips.
 
Genetics do come in play ... look up Herschel Walker's workout during his athletlic career he never lifted weights. I admit I am gifted with genetics and was able to get a real nice build doing the same stuff along time ago when I didn't have access to weights.

Do you guys honestly think these guys got that huge from just pullups and god knows what kind of diet? :rolleyes: I donno about that.

i do a lot of the kinds of pullups those dudes were doing, and more of them, although not the crazy slide side to side one, sometimes with added weight. i will spend 20 minutes doing a pull up routine, and i think they have had massive impact on my back development. just about no one does hardcore pullup routines at the wimpy gyms i got to, and just about no one has any sort of back development to speak of.
 
Good genetics. But that big dude probably played ball before and had real weights at a school gym for a time in his life.

The guy was blessed with good genetics....no proof if he took any gear but I doubt it...I have known guys that spend 20 minutes in the gym 3 times a week that looked that good or better...its genetics....most people don't stay that lean without a strict diet and I bet you that guy eats all the wrong shit for most people to get that lean. He was doing some exercises claiming they were isolating certain muscles, and he was wrong. Just cause you look the part doesn't mean you know shit...and doesn't mean others should listen to what he has to say.

I like weighted pull ups and dips...they have played a huge roll in my back and chest depelopement.

Anyways I wouldn't want to be that genetically gifted if it meant I had to be so ghetto. I would have been more impressed if he wasn't talking and they had someone that could speak english explain what he was doing. I am SUPER turned off by ghetto people.
 
I think it is actually very possible to gain a decent amount of size using bodyweight exercises. In terms of pressing movements, exercises like bench dips, dips, handstand pushups, and T pushups can take you pretty far. In terms of pulling movements various forms of inverted rows and pullups/chinups can do a lot for you too. Even if you can bang out 20 chinups, try pulling yourself up and doing 1 armed negatives. Those will rip you a new one. As far as leg movements go you can do all kinds of unilateral stuff: lunges, stepups, Bulgarian squats, one legged squats on a bench, one legged squats free standing, reverse hyperextensions, hyperextensions, glute ham raises, etc. You see my point. Of course, I still like using weights, heh.
 
i got through the first video...it was fairly interesting. but 10 seconds into the second i didn't bother watching the rest. when i'm watching a training video i need to see some intelligence, not "yeah nigga, this is the pop off right here, nigga, nigga, blah blah"

so they were big...big deal. most of my friends are built similar to those guys, but they know nothing about working out.

bahahaha, the turnover rate at that place is incredible. every week they have to hire new people cause half of the staff's been arrested :laugh:

yea dennis is still there. but he's taking MCSE courses now and hopefully he can get a better JOB or more money over there.

Everyone is basically gone now, Dennis might become the IT manager/Warehouse manager too.

I think you can make great gains with bodyweight exercises....Like others have said your body weight is sometimes more of a challenge then some use with weights....so I feel like its for sure a good start.

My only beef is I can't stand ghetto people. (of any color)
 
i think bodyweight exercises are alot better beccause its easier to push urself harder, because you wont be worried about injury or dumping a dumbbell or barbell on your face

they did pullups, sorts of pushups, hanging abs, and dips that will basically hit the whole upperbody, and they prolly get there lower body from running from the cops- gangsta ruffrydas
