Yes, I learned that not too long ago either! I was into steroids but I hear he was the genius on this subject!

Too bad he's dead, though!

I wonder how much if it had to do with genetics versus his extreme experimentation.

It was all genetics...his condition(s) was/were congenital.

That said, the inside word was the he had severe depression, and if anyone had a talent for pharmacology and it's adverse effects....he did!

Hmm, thanks for the info, I didn't know that you would have the inside scoop on this one.

I have my own downer problems as well, but find that herbal stuff seems to work for the most part, so thankfully its not too bad.

Wow, you just heard about this recently! Yeah, he's been dead a couple of years now and I really miss the guy. I met him once when I lived in San Diego...he lived about 30 minutes from me. He was a genius, and not only about drugs, but supplements, training, and dietary techniques. Yes, he had some genetic health problems, but you CANNOT discount his severe experimentation with all sorts of chemicals. I'm sure he shortened his own life by a good 10-15 years.

Anyway, I recommend reading verything he ever wrote!

Yep, I found out about it through someones writing (late friend of mine Dan Duchaine......) and went HUH?

I guess I can blame it on not really paying attention for awhile...

Eiyyyyyiiiii! What a typo on my part! Correction: I WAS NOT into steroids......

Yep, I don't know a ton about his life either, but around 96 or so I used to read on some stuff once in awhile, and he was the guy often went too for info on this and that, interviewed alot. Any time I had seen him he was pretty small, so maybe he was having problems at that time or what I dunno (I do know he got busted at one point).

He basically experimented with alot of stuff (well lets see what happens!) and then shared his experiences, rather scary I'd say.

Any pics of this dude?

I have some pix I think around somewhere, he looked like he was about 170 pounds, maybe lighter (thin looking). He may have been sick at that time, I can't recall for sure.

Prince, I don't really have an excuse, but I started working out 15 years ago, and was on/off alot, due to other hobbies, lack of long term dedication, you name it. Your site is what got me back on my feet basically, so I've been working out pretty well since I've joined.

So yes, 2 years ago I would qualify for being under a rock :)

Hey! I live under a rock. What about it! In fact, I recently updated to a boulder.
