De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao

I don't know much about professional boxers, but I thought De La Hoya was at a much heavier weight class than Pacquiao. I thought Oscar was sort of a medium build and Pacquiao was very small.

Yeah, he's the naturally bigger man. Should be enough to win a decision,if not a tko.

I'm headed for Big Bear, for the Thansgiving holiday. Maybe I'll see Oscar running around lol...

Big difference actually. Pacquiao has spent most of his career in the 120-130 range and Oscar has fought as heavy as and been champ @ 160. They thought Diaz would be too big for Pacquiao @ 135, but he ended up KOing him. I'm excited for this one.

It's got the makings of a good one. But, I said that about Mayweather too!:paddle:

A few things really excite me about this fight. Outside of the obvious, that Manny Pacquiao is an exciting, come-forward fighter who is willing to stand and trade, De La Hoya has given up a lot of lateral movement over the last few years, and Manny Pacquiao has only become more elusive with his body movement. I'm curious to see how Pacquiao handles the big step up in weight and how De La Hoya handles the big drop in weight (he hasn't fought at 147 since 2001.. this is significant because he has always been a big guy in his division and will have to cut even more weight to make the catch weight).

And of course, I'm curious to see if Manny can do damage at 147. I doubt he stays that high, but if he did, there is loads of talent in that division: Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Clottley, or Berto. He would be more likely to drop to 140. I would like to see him ktfo out of the winner (or loser) of Hatton/Malignaggi this weekend.

One worry I have is if DLH decides to counter punch and run all night... could make for a pretty frustratingly boring fight to watch.

This should be a great fight. Very excited for this one. I think De La Hoya will win with a late knockout.
