Alright, so a while ago i posted my squat form videos just to get them checked out. I thought it was my squats hurting my back, but i guess it wasn't. I have realized now that its my deadlifts.

Anyways, i deadlift on fridays and i have literally been stuck around the same weight for 4 months or so. Its absolutely stupid.

Now i am doing a lower weight (245 for triples) and im getting a lot of upper back pain during the lift, then lower back after. It doesn't make sense because my form looks really good, and the powerlifters there say there is not much wrong with my form.

BUt during the lift, i have been getting a feeling like its compression in my upper back/spine, and it hurts. I don't stop the lift because its not that sort of pain, but its just there.

After the lift, i get lower back pains. Its a weird sort of pain that i can't really describe. It doesn't stop me from doing anything, but it can slightly affect other lifts because you feel it there.

I'll try and get some videos up next deadlift session, but any reason as to why my back keeps on hurting when i have the exact same form as couple months ago, and never had back pain then?

Can be a tricky lift to learn. You might think about concentrating on your form for a bit and backing off on the weight. If you are not making progress and you are getting extreme back pain, something is wrong. Without seeing your form, that is about all I can offer.

It is better to err on the side of caution. My opinion is to stop deadlifting for a month or so. When you resume deadlifts, hopefully whatever is causing the pain has healed. Good luck.

this may help

hey man,

Have you tried any stabilization exercises for your lower back such as the single leg deadlift? Hows your warmup you do any active stretching? Do you do any dynamic warmups for your back. This may help you out. Mike reinold of the boston redsox shows a postural exercise for you back. Its a lat pulldown with a little twist. Use the information if you want bro hope it helps :)

go to mikereinold dot com and type in lat pulldown in the keyword box on the top right of his website. it will show proper form. He also explains why he does the lat pulldown that way

film it and maybe someone can help you

Hey thanks for the responses, i know you can't be much help without a video.

I'm going to try and upload a video from 2 weeks ago. Hopefully that will work.

I get the lower back pains, but it goes away after a few days. Not sure about upper back pain.

Same with me, this upper back pain those was weird. Never had it before until yesterday. My lower back pain normally goes away too.

I'm thinking i might just do that depending. I think it is something that needs time to heal especially if it hurts only after deadlifts and for a few days then goes away. clearly must be something wrong in there.

Anyways i'll hopefully have my videos up sometime tonight and ill link it tomorrow morning.

My internet is very slow :(

Thank you, i do a bunch of dynamic mobility drills before every workout. Then during my workout i will do a few stretches in between exercises just to release/loosen up my body.

I'll have to check that out and see.
