Pulled a muscle in my lower back doin deadlifts. I hate takin it easy when on cycle because it feels like a wasted day if i cant push myself. Any of you guys have experience with injury on cycle and how did you deal with?

I've messed up my sciatic nerve doing deads before. Don't do deads period until your fully healed snd even then your going to have to ease back into it. lots of heat and gentle stretching. This is why I love doing deads below the knees. The risk is far less and can still yield results

I was doin sumo deads. Never heard of below the knee deads. Ill check it out.

Below the knee or rack deads

pulled my chest so bad i thought i tore it. It popped and rolled in. Just worked around it and 5 days later did a bunch of stretching and deep massage. I would roll on softballs to break up scare tissue. Foam rolling and deep tissue are two things most bodybuilders dont do and are VERY important for strength and flexability. Not to mention size.

damn you guys must lift crazy lol..

all my shit is slow and controlled.. it's all about the contraction and stretch. this is bodybuilding not "fuck up your joints powerlifting fuck yeah bro herp"

mine was a pride thing, I stopped lifting like that. I benched 450 and was not eating enough protein, went back a week later and went for 315 for 15 and on the 10th rep it just went pop. Right around my bicep tendion in my armpit.

training with a small tear in my triceps brachii. it's a terrible place to have an injury. must not overload and train smart. since I tore it, been doing 4 sets of 20 reps, now getting fuller and bigger without doing stupid weight anymore. :coffee:

This^^^^. I try to spend 20 mins on my foam roller EOD. It really loosens things up

Just train around it, the test in your system will allow it to heal incredibly quickly.

My last cycle I partially tore my hamstring in a foot race, so bad I was forced to crutches. But it healed enough for me to use it in 3 weeks. I also pulled my pec later on that same cycle, but it was fine two weeks later.

I use a foam roller 2-3 times a week for lower back issues. It's helped a great deal. I've been back pain free for a year. I just bought another one on amazon. I got the high density SPRI foam roller for $26 with free shipping. Sports Authority wanted $50.

i foam roll and stretch the night before i lift, and right after i get home from lifting..

no tears/injuries to report. I also dont lift like a jackass

I like goin heavy but if my form is off ill drop weight. Ive tried to tell my bro about it but he wont listen. he moves a full 3 feet forward and backwards while doin low rows..lol...ive seen him damn near do a front squat tryin to curl..lmao...full body motion I tried to do to much weight on deadlifts. I knew my form was shit as soon as i got it off the floor...pride..nothin more. Will def get a foam roller. Thanks for all the advice everybody.
