ok, so we all know that turkey is a staple for bb both bulking and cutting, but does that include deli turkey or do i have to carve up my own bird everytime i want to enjoy its benefits?

So long as it's fat free....your only issue then will be nitrites/nitrates (preservatives) and excessive sodium

Just buy turkey breasts, no carving required....but tend to be higer priced than chicken.

Buy BoarsHead deli meat.

It has no preservatives, and very low sodium.

It is perhaps the best deli meat you can buy.

It's the least processed also.

Macleans Meats makes excellent organic, nitrate-free turkey meats. See if they are sold at a deli near you.

Do the nitrites/nitrates affect your physical appearance, or is it more of a health issue? I was thinking of buying some packaged deli turkey, thats 0g fat, 0g sugar, 12g for 2 oz. But it contains those nitrates...

Health issue.... for some people, it's been linked to headaches (and migraines). Quite often people will feel flushed after having meat that are preservative laden. MSG can have this effect as well. Even if you weren't affected, it probably isn't that great for you in ways that haven't necessarily been measured yet.

Excessive sodium will cause some people to hold water. So I guess that affects your appearance....even though drinking lots of water helps flush out the sodium.
