I heard quickly on the news this morning that the Fed. Gov't is asking for a voluntary recall of ephedra based and ephedra like supplements to be pulled off of the shelves here in Canada. Has anyone else heard this? I just caught it quickly and didn't get any details. They did say that these supps were linked to over 60 health issues including one death. Any thoughts?

I find it funny that only after 60 health issues and one death they want to take it off the market, yet thousands of people die from smoking tobacco and it hasnet been banned. Crazy.

That is an interesting point. I guarentee if these products were producing the cash tobacoo is, they would not be pulled.
I thought they reported that they were banning all products containing ephedra, and ephederin here in Canada.
The 60 heart attacks and/or health "incidents" were probably more because the people were out of shape and overweight, than the ephedra they were taking.

the 60 health issues could be do to the fact that those people had previous heart/health problems to where they should'nt have taken any ephedra based supps,our goverment does the same thing,the jump on the bandwagon when some thing like this happens.Tobacco has'nt caused any death's has it?????? thats big goverment for ya DUH

If you look at the actual amount of health problems that ephedra have caused, then compare that to drugs like alcohol and tobacco, there's no comparison.

Tabacco and alcohol make a lot more money for the government then ephedra ever will.
Well the real problem here is that the government doesn't know for SURE if tobacco causes death....

OK so we covered the unhealthy people popping some pills and running 10 miles in dessert heart at full pace and then wonder why they died, could it also be that they lived off fast food where 50 pounds over weight and decide to run after never working out before
