Hello all,
A close friend of mine is looking to lose some weight and get in shape, and has asked me for advice. I dont want to steer him wrong, so thought I would throw out a few questions to you all. (Ive also sent him the link to this forum -- hopefully he will check it out!)
He stands about 5"10 at maybe 260-280 pounds. By his estimates, he needs to lose between 70-100 pounds. I dont know his bodyfat, but it is certainly very high as he does not train with weights or do any cardio (he is going to start along with his new diet though).
Ive read the stickies, and have a good base knowledge regarding acceptable foods to eat, the protein/carb/fat ratio, etc...
My question is how many calories should he start out consuming? Should I base this on his target weight of around 180-190lbs? If so, would that mean 1800-1900 calories?
Sorry if Ive missed something that was asked and answered in previous posts,
Christian
