Hello, i just started competing in triathlons and am wondering what would be a good diet program to go on. I had been training and dieting for muscle mass(I.e.) low carb high protein but now need more carbs to keep me going. I am currently 6'1" 195lbs and want to keep as much muscle as possible and get down to about 6% body fat.(im currently around 12%) So how much carbs, fat and protein should i be taking in in order to keep my muscle mass and lose fat. Thanks

I'm on the opposite side, I'm trying to lose fat while doing tri's :)

If your doing sprint distances, keeping your protein high will be enough, and will be at the ragged edge up to Olypmic distances. as you go longer 1/2 IM+, you will lose some mass, during racing season.

I've done sprints & olympic and lost over 50 pounds since my first tri and lost only .9 pounds of muscle. All I do is eat 220g+ of protein a day and lift 1-2 a week.

Like all other diets, you'll have to tinker with what works for you. good luck :thumb:
