I feel like you ask an iteration of this question every other week. Anyways,

In a way, yes to them all.

Aside from that, go do "Starting Strength" by Mark Rippetoe and stop dicking around with your home-brewed routines.

-also is stretching after be important?

Do you think that "no" is a plausible answer that we'd give?

Because.

Go read some stuff from Joe DeFranco or Eric Cressey or anybody that's reasonably respectable. Look into 'dynamic stretching' and 'foam rolling'.

A bigger motor won't slow down a car but too much junk in the truck will.

I don't know what the best answer is but given that running a 40 is basically a micro-sport on it's own, you probably need a track coach. Preferably someone who knows a thing or two about the event.

Getting stronger and adding lean body mass while lowering your body fat will help too.

Plyometrics and calf raises are probably your best bet along with a diet to make yourself light. Its not that the other exercises are bad, I just don't see lunges out preforming plyometrics.

your right, sorry dont wanna be annoying, and speed for football
Eaglefan: my son was a very good wide receiver in highschool and we were able to increase his speed by doing an unusual running exercise. We took about 40 ft. of surgical tubing and doubled it so it`s 20ft. long now.Attack one end to a belt the runner wears and the other end to some kind of a handle.Have someone take the handle and walk down the track and stretch the tubing until it`s so tight the runner can barely stand without falling. This should be 40 to 50 yards by now.The runner then runs sprints with the tubing pulling him faster than he normally could. In theory this speeds up your rate of turnover and hopefully you will maintain some of this without the tubing. It seemed to help although we were doing many other exercises too.It might be worth a try for you. Good luck
