...HOW MUCH TIME YOU SPEND LIFTING, READING ABOUT LIFTING, TAKING SUPPS, GOING ON BB SITES & POSTING BB PIX OF YOURSELF, LOOKING @ BB MAGS, ETC??

I'm sure mine don't all; my buds are pretty much typical skinny punk/garage rock'n rollers & "artists".
They know I lift & most knew me when I was 22yo & 137lbs. But I'd guess they'd laff if they knew how much time I spend & enjoyment (& compliments) I get from it...Funny, now when they're pool/beach parties I look like fukkin' Arnold compared to my buddies, & their GF's will squeeze my arms & poke my abs, comment on my traps (I've discovered girls love nice traps!), etc!!!

Of COURSE my friends know how much time I spend here. All my friends are here on IM ;)

My college roomies always used to say "wtf are you doing on that computer all time"?

and i used to just laugh, cuz i wasn't doing schoolwork, that's for sure...

yep they sure do. I stopped hanging out with most of them cuz they still smoke weed and drink alot.

IM is a great source of motivation for me. My girlfriend hates it.

my close friends know that i love to lift and eat a healthy diet. But the majority of them dont know about this but they have asked me if i was lifting because they were suprised i am getting bigger.

That's what also happened w/me, I ddin't tell my friends I had started lifting, my 1st year I went from 137lbs > 153lbs; 169lbs the next year...eventually up to 180lbs by 5th/6th year....Have cut some BF% since then to 171lbs....

No, they all know I work out, but only a few know how much time I spend on this. Though, a few times I have gotten into debates and shown I know more than your average teen lifter.

Haha mine hates it too. Everytime I go in my room I have to check this site for new posts before we can do anything else and she goes crazy!

none of mine know the FULL extent. they know the lifting and supps, but not the time i spend studying these forums and magazines and other sources :read: . Some of the closer ones workout w/ me.. and i guess im a bad friend because i let them waste their hour that they are with me in the gym unless they ask me for help... too focused on my self to be worried about arguing about something when i know im right :argue:

Most of them recognise that i know a fair bit about training and diet. i don't think they know where it all comes from though.

my friends are always too drunk to care about something like that. Thus why I have
no training partner

yea...my buds know im really into lifting and supps but they dont know i log into im ten times a day...and read for hours sometimes

doesn't make you a bda friend Trizz, you gotsta be about yo bizz while in the gym, help them when your out of there. Not alot more pisses me off than when someone keeps trying to get me to explain everything during a training session, can be very frustrating

I don't have ANY friends who lift or to argue with about BB'ing!!
FYI: here's a pic from today, what the hell!

Hi da,

BE damn glad you ARE this good - and NEVER STOP - it IS your foundation and your health totally. It is the one gift a Man can give himself that truly benefits him and all those that understand and appreciate what he is doing - and it inspires others as well. STAY WITH IT ALWAYS!

I quess they do. They do say things from time to time when they see me. Those that APPRECIATE AND UNDERSTAND what I am doing are damn glad I am working out and accomplishing - "very well" according to what I am told by them.

I do not go around bragging and flaunting, I let what I have and what I have accomplished do any "talking" for itself. No matter who appreciates and understands the meaning and purpose sincerely, I get people - Men and Women - wanting to see and feel and I let them because it is a way for them to REALIZE what they too CAN HAVE if they will work as I have done for it HONESTLY and STAY WITH IT. And by letting them see and feel they too will be inspired to DO FOR THEMSELVES. It is a COMPLIMENT and a "THANK YOU" from them. Those that try to run you down for some reason are lazy themselves and will never do anything to make themselves healthy totally and instead of DOING for themselves will just try to discredit you in some way and truthfully, are jealous of what YOU HAVE DONE.

Take Care, John H.

Hi da,

The PROOF is in your photo and what YOU HAVE DONE!!! BE PROUD - NOT prideful - of what YOU HAVE DONE AND STAY WITH IT! You OBVIOUSLY KNOW what you are doing and ARE DOING!!! NEVER give that up for anything or anyone. It IS TRULY the one gift a Man gives himself - and those that truly care about him.

DAMN BEAUTIFUL JOB BUDDY!!!!!

Take Care, John H.

My friends don't have a clue. They only know that I go to the gym and diet. But they don't know of my pictures and the extent of my interest. I open up more on the boards than to them . . . I always tell my friends at the gym, "no one understands" I HATE when other people, even my buddies think I don;t have a life because they think I am working out all the time. I do workout alot, even on Saturday and Friday nights IF I don't make it in the a.m. If I wanna go out, then I go out, nothing gets good until after 11:00 anyways . . .

Oh yea, and i am always checking the sites too.

I think my GF thinks I am having some online romance w/ one of the ladies from IM...

I love the people who think that eating healthy is some sort of funny hobby,
and not a chosen lifestyle.

Working out and exercising saved my life...

Now I am stuck between doing something I love...
And my career :barf: (which is detrimental to my health and workouts)

Somethings going to have to break somewhere :scared:
My coworkers think I am crazy,
for entertaining the idea of quitting a well paying career to pursue Fitness

Yeah, I'm NOT a morning person, but sometimes during the on Sat or Sun I'll get up @ 8am to lift if I'm going to be busy & I wonder what my boozing rock'n roll friends would think: up @ 8am to lift weights???

Most don't have a clue, but I will tell them if they ask...My co-workers do know how much chicken I eat however, as they give me shit about it daily...How many times have you all heard the "you need to switch it up" speech about your diet?...Ironically, it only bothers the observers...

I'm the same way, I don't talk to anyone about it. Sometimes in get into debates about it with people who know diddly squat about health and fitness but I try to avoid those conversations tho. I totally know what you're talking about ALIEN. I've actually had family tell me that watching what I eat and eating healthy isn't good for me and I should eat things like hot dogs and junk food more often ( hot dogs just happened to be the most recent thing they said.)

Almost all of my real friends have worked out from 14 on, and they all still do it....most more than I.

I hear that. I get it from my friends all the time when I'm out and don't drink. Then I tell them I'm getting up at 7am on Sunday to run or bike for two hours. And I know their girlfriends/wives like the way I look because they always get comments when I'm around - "you should work out more"! :thumb:

Plus I love being aboe to outperform all of my friends at anything physical. At a stag party I was at last weekend they had a pushup competition. The leader when it got to me had 23(!). I whipped off 40 and asked if they wanted me to keep going. :D My prize was a beer.
