Not disputing the fact the mother could use the trademark as a way to make profit. From my understanding though she did it because others are making a profit off his name. There was a car wash down the street from my house at a circle k in "honor of Treyvon" they were asking for donations and shit. I was curious so I stopped by, first question I asked is did they know him or his family and they said no, said sorry I won't donate but you can still wash my car. They didn't. Lol. His mom simply doesn't want someone else profiting from her sons name. Its a purely logical thing, I wouldn't either in her situation. Ppl are greedy fuckers and if they can make a buck by using the name of a killed kid they will. I'm gonna wait till the new evidence comes out before I determine how I feel about this case. From what I'm seeing though its possible Zimmerman will be cleared as the witnesses are saying Treyvon attacked George while he was getting into his vehicle. However if this is the case the prosecutor needs only say one term "equal force" and Zimmerman could be royally screwed... If Florida has the same law we have here in AZ then Zimmerman would be guilty cause his force exceeded that of Treyvon, when I say force I mean the use of a deadly weapon against an unarmed assailant. Its not commonly used here in cases such as these because lawyers overlook it due to it being such a simple thing, plus it doesn't always sound as good in court.

Qualifications in this area: family full of LE and I've taken a couple courtroom law classes.

Bro, you're referencing what they call the use of force continuum. It applies to law enforcement personnel vs citizens. For example, if a suspect spits at you, you're not going to be justified in shooting him.

Think about this, of a guy attacks a female with NO weapon, and he's kicking and stomping her, she has every right to shoot and kill him. Not just a female, anyone for the matter. The key phrase here is, "I feared for my safety/life." In circumstances like these and those similar in nature, the use of force continuum does not apply.

No, I'm not referencing force continuum. I know that relates to law enforcement. This is different, I just can't remember what its called at the moment cause my classes for law were 6yrs ago. I actually think it is called the Equal Force Law or Deadly Force law though. Force Continuum only relates to LE cases. I've never heard it used in a civil case but i could be wrong.

In the case of a man rapping or attacking a female then it doesn't apply and that is completely different from this case in every way possible. Because for most women, and I say most because there are some that can kick the crap out of a dude, they can't fight off a grown man. Nobody would side against the woman in that case. But a 30 yr old man vs a 17 yr old is different... I'm saying if they use this law then Zimmerman could be in trouble because his use of deadly force against an unarmed assailant who he out weighs and could have fought off. The prosecutor could say Zimmerman could have over powered Treyvon even if he was not the instigator in the fight. You don't see the law used all too often though cause most times a person is defending themselves in a home invasion or a situation where they fear for their life and can't escape due to their surroundings. Zimmerman could have ran or got into his car and escaped. Now, I'm not justifying one way or another as I could easily come up with a defense for Zimmerman also. I'm just stating that if the lawyer who is prosecuting wanted to use this law he could and it would make a good case against Zimmerman.
