Don't you just want to slap some sense into people you see at gyms, that move from machine to machine using hardly any weight, putting forth no effort at all, sometimes you see them yawning the whole time.:whip:

nope. the longer i train the less i notice stuff like that.

i only wanna slap 'em if they're lounging on the equipment i'm waiting for. :D

The thing that gets me is when they are reading the newspaper WHILE lifting the weights!:yell:

alot of those around Jim.

Some people workout simply to socialize or to make some kind of fashion statement.

I like to focus on the few that really put their hearts and souls into their training. Those are my heros.
Absolutely. Or those that talk on the cell phone while they do the treadmill- what concentration!!

I pay little attention to what others are doing in the gym, but I often get a silent chuckle out of the one's that try and work their quads on the calf machine. :D
Thats gotta be a funny sight!:thumb:

You really dont need concentration on the treadmill, but sweating into your phone and panting like a rabid dog must be kind of bothersome.

I dont go to the gym to notice people, they do thier thing and I do mine, I would prefer not to be watched.

I agree, but some people you just can't miss! And with the treadmill, for people like me that would be an accomplishment. I have trouble talking to the person next to me without tripping over my feet, much less on a phone.
:D

Awhile back I saw a newb walking on a treadmill, talking to a girl next to him, and clearly not paying attention to what he was doing. He starting to jog slowly, then went right off the back of the treadmill, fell and his head smacked the belt. He rolled off of it and laid on the floor groaning. Oh that had to hurt...

 :funny: That's what I'm talking about! That would be me, wish I could have seen it.

I've seen that except it was some stupid guy trying to impress his girlfriend by taking the treadmill up to it's highest speed. After about ten seconds he tripped and went literally flying backwards across the room, smashing himself into another cardio machine that someone else was on at the time. She freaked out and fell off the machine she was on too. It was like dominoes!

No, because I'm only using an 1/3 of what I used to lift and with my new schedule that starts at 5:45 am- 1 am. So, if I yawn during my workout it's bc/ I am just a slight bit tired however, I do use more effort than most! ;)

Well, she was a bad mamma jamma.....and yes it did hurt. (don't tell my wife, okay?)

I get to the gym at 5 AM. The only people that are dumn enough to get up that early are the ones that want to work out. Most days there are 6 people, it's a beautiful thing to not have to wait for equipment.

i've noticed the same thing now that i'm forced to train late. no fools at the gym at midnight!

yeah it's weird....my schedule right now is rough and i'm sleep deprived mon - fri. i get home from the gym at 12:30 am and it's always a bit after 1:00 when i fall asleep...i'm up again at 6:15 so i'm really tired.

BUT once i get there I love the gym at that time. not crowded (but not empty either) and it just feels more serious in a good way....like we're all in on something. that sounds psycho but it really is a cool vibe that's very different from the 8 pm feel of the place.

On fridays, my gym is full of people working their biceps, thinking the pump will last untill they hit the clubs

it won't?
