Hey boys and gals!!! My honey went out and got equipment to start a home gym, soon after the baby was born. He said he hated driving an 30 mins. to the gym and then 30 home and putting up with the people that work out there. He got this thing that does all this stuff and we have the ab bench and the treadmill. Well, I am really writing to ask if anyone has heard of Power Blocks? He got those when he got his tax refund back...they are about 1,000$ and replace dumbbells. They are very interesting!! I can only lift about 15 lbs right now, but they are nice! If you are looking to replace your dumbbell set and go for something more convenient and space saving, these are cool! Just thought I would share a good product with you!!!!

Thanks susi

I've looked into those power blocks myself in the past because I also wanted to build a home gym for pretty much the same reasons. lol

The power blocks are nice but they just didn't feel right to me. So I bought what are called safety lock adjustable dumbbell handles. They are more expensive than regular dumbbell handles but they're worth it because they have a safety feature built in that locks the weights in place so there is no worries that the dumbbells will come apart in the middle of your set. The maximum weight that they will go up to is 85lbs. And if that's not enough, there are theses cool magnetic weights that you can put on, like a magnet on a refrigerator. And the magnets on the weights are strong!!!! so they will not fall off.

If you build it they will come

the power block is an awesome addition to a home gym! I use them at work, and they work fine. I do prefer individual dumbbells, but for a small gym or home use they are perfect! Make sure that you buy the set that goes up to at least 95lbs.
