I was thinking last night, as I restart my training at home as to what exercises I could do for my back with a dumbell/ barbell

One arm dumbell row
bent over row
deadlift
shrugs
dumbell pull over
would bent over lateral raises work the back muscle?

Any other would be helpful
thanks guys :D

Deadlifts are more of a lowerbody exercise if done correctly and shrugs are just for the traps. I wouldn't do shrugs anyway.

Exercises you can do at home that I like:
Supine row Never heard of it
chins|Dont have a chin up/pull up bar as doors arent wide enough at home
pullups^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
bentover row
dumbell row

And for isolation I like bentover lateral raises.

Thanks for the info

I love Pendlay Rows personally.

What are supine and pendlay rows? Any idea of what I can do a pull up on? arent dumbells rows basically the same

Is the pendlay row the same as a bent over row?

go out side and do pull ups on a tree.

I bought a pullup bar that fitted between my door, one day I was doing pullups and the next thing I know im on the floor with the pullup bar on top of me. So if your going to invest in a pullup get a good one :D apart from that as P Funk says, if there is a tree or a climbing frame or any other object you can do pullups from then use it :)

I bought a pull up bar but our doors arent wide enough for them, and the only 'park' near where I live is a mile away

lol Thought you were meant to keep cardio to a min while you bulk?

Here is a quote from Glenn Pendlay about doing bent over rows.

"The best way to do them is to start with the bar on the floor every single rep. Your middle back will have a slight bend to it. You pull the bar off the floor quickly with the arms, and by a powerful arch of your middle back. You finish by touching the bar to your upper stomach or middle stomach.
At no time is there any movement of the hips or knees, no hip extension at all, all that bends is the middle back and the shoulders and elbows. This is hard to do and you have to have good muscular control to do it, or you'll end up straightening up at the hips along with the arching of the back. But if you can master doing them this way you will get a big back" (Glenn Pendlay).

I use them. I love them. They work nicely.
