40 reps? That's too many. Get heavier dumb bells.

I will thanx for the help!

Despite what some members may say, don't ever apologize for asking a question. Just be certain that you have checked other threads in the forum first before posting a question, it may have been answered. Part of the benefit of being a member here is that the older threads are readily accessable, so that you can check past posts and gain knowledge by doing your own research. IF you have trouble navigating the forum, just ask someone for help. I'd be glad to, and you will learn which members have knowledge in which areas.
It would help if you provided a little more info about yourself, such as your fitness goals, your age, and what it is you do during your workout, in specific.

Exercise should never result in ill effects, save for improper execution of movement which leads to injury. However, 40 rep sets aren't going to do much except for improve localized muscular endurance and improve capillary density in the muscles involved.

Regardless of just about anything, I think it is beneficial to eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day. This allows your body to better utilize the nutrition available in each meal instead of letting it turn to waste or storing excess energy as fat. Check out Jodi's guide to setting up a healthier diet more conducive to achieving your goals.

No apologies needed. Although there are always a few trolls out there, most people here are happy to help. Might I ask what your goals are with your exercise routine?

Well i am just in poor physical shape compared to what i was 10 years ago and my goal is really just to tone my fat...Thing's are just heavier than they used to be it seem's..I am only 33 but i feel like i am 50...I have not worked out in 10 year's or so..At one time i could bench 250 squat 350 dead-lift into the 400's now it's hard to bench 100..I am just looking to get some strength back..

Thanx for the help guy's..
