Writers for the most part only have their writing to bank on, maybe a rare public appearance, but when you have the Snooki's of the world getting paid more than Toni Morrison to appear at an Institution of "higher" learning they can't depend on that for much longer it seems. Sometimes a writer is lucky enough to get a movie deal out of one of their creations, but that is very rare.

Jesus DOMS you are so fucking stubborn. But that's one of the main characteristics of over-achievers, isn't it?, so I can only congratulate you -- and reply to Manic instead of wasting more time on you. I don't know who Snookis is or are, but Toni Morrison, by more than a few reports, gets paid top dollar and is no walk in a spring rain in terms of behavior. As to writers and film deals, the writer almost always gets fucked unless he or she has one of the very few high powered agents with enough juice to hammer those jackals into a fair deal. Best example I know of, personally, is Winston Groom and Forrest Gump. He got fucked so badly, it would make even a Tren junkie weep.
