I know it's not easy to quit smoking right away... But I found an easier way for you to quit smoking... You can actually quit while you smoke...really!

now open this link to know more information about this... http://www.nosmoq.com

wow that's new. but it still costs money, as opposed you stopped spending any when you stopped buying tobacco. but lose one of the benefits of smoking :D

honestly, i think it is easier when you keep yourself busy doing the things you like to do(playing ball),doing productive things(like working out,read/learn/help others on IM).

It's all in your head  If you want it bad enough you will find the motivation to quit and never go back. I did cold turkey. I accepted being an ex smoker just as I stopped smoking pot in high school. You just get over it and move on in life as a new chapter. Most of the quitting if not all is in your perspective. ;)

This is my philosophy too... I was a smoker for 13 years, started at the age of 13! :barf:
For me personally though I think I was far more addicted to the 'act' of smoking, after a meal, with a drink etc., than I ever was to the nicotine itself.

Yeah I agree... I smoked up until recently but my priorities supercede the habit now. I smoked since I was 13 as well ;)

I had both the addiction to the drugs and the habits. A smoke and a cup of coffee was life's blood on a heavy work morning with little sleep the night before. I barely had time to swallow the last bites of a meal before I was reaching for my smokes. My first time off the death sticks was on a bet. Pride was at stake there so I quit cold turkey right then.

This time is forever ... my son has asthma and my crappy habit was affecting his health. Done deal there. That was back in 93.

Cold turkey was the only way I could do it. Cutting back, patches or anything seamed like too much trouble. A prolonging of the agony. I quit ... It bugged me for a while but it was OK over all.

smoked for 7 years. quit cold turkey 2 years ago.

and I agree BC... nothing tasted better than coffee & a smoke! :lick:

Ditto. Cold turkey was the only way I could quit. If you can get through the first week, it just gets easier and easier.

Then you start to notice how smokers smell ... really bad. Everyone know this guy here ... the one who chain smokes. The one you know without seeing first ... just that nasty odor comes into your environment and you know he/she is there. I hope I never smelled that bad to anyone!!!!!

yep.

I would have to say that quitting smoking was harder than giving up the meth. I quite cold turkey. but even now 15 years later, I find myself inhaling when i see someone take a drag off of a cigarette, even in movies. I smoked 2 packs aday for 5 years. But I heard there is a new proceedure where they place a laser on the bridge of your nose and you never want one again. Not sure of the cost.

I quit the meth the same way. Needed to stop and I did. Programs were of no interest to me at all. The last thing I needed after leaving all the dope friends behind was new dope friends ... all wiggin' for a bump!!!! It is soooo much easier for me to just stop than to wander around dwelling on it and planing it out. Like ya said Cman that first week sucks than it gets easier.

To me smoking is a gross habit now. I would not even think of dating someone that smokes. Although I will confess I still burn a lil weed on special occasians. Newyears eve, a birthday thing ... something other than everyday good times. To me good times are more fun sober.

BC you druggy

Well I quite it all by joining the Navy. My freinds kept putting it in front of me. If they could not get out of the web they didn't want me out. after 6 months of struggling, I finnaly went down raised my right hand and left town. threw the cigs in the trash when i went in the gate. Never went back to my freinds or anything else

The easiest way to quit smoking is to never start :).
But outside of that, the cold turkey method is the only way.
It's all about wanting to quit and conditioning your mind to do it.
If you don't want it bad enough, you will never quit.
