Hello I eat around 1.5 -2 hours before I hit the gym. I get there 7-8pm train till 10:00pm.jiu itsu mauy thai and wrestling by the time i get home and shower its 10:30pm,and im not hungry i just drink water and go to bed.is that ok or should i eat or drink a protien shake which i dont want to do or is it important to? Thanks

It's not necessary ,but always good to restore your body with protein and lost nutrients. Skim milk or any milk for that matter is great after a workout I think. I may be wrong but it helps rebuild what you tore down.

Just have something small. Perhaps have a smaller meal before 1.5-2hrs before you hit the gym so that some hunger strikes after you finish your workouts and then have either a small shake or munch on some trail mix just to put something in. That's what I would do.

If you dont want to eat or drink something.. dont! but you aint guna get size or keep it if you flog your body and use energy and strength dont replenish it!

I would at least have a shake with milk and olive oil before bed.

werd . . keep it liquid . . milk is a good option, but what PnP has outlined would work best :daydream:

ill make my self drink a shake after training thanks

Sounds like a bad idea no matter the goal!

1) Your not taking advantage of the "anabolic window" PWO
2) Your body relatively goes into a fasting and very catabolic state while you sleep (there are no nutrients coming in).

This is why it's absolutely essential to eat upon waking. At the very LEAST do the protein shake immediately post workout. Include your BCAAs, glutamine, etc. in the shake.
