hey ummm i jus started working out & building muscle and i have one question:
I read online that you must eat 20 minutes or less after you workout and i want to no if this true. i need the best results i can get and will take any suggestions. Also if u have any suggestions on if i shuld eat b4 workouts too plz reply. And if u no what is good for me to eat b4 or after workouts i'm open to anything which give me the best results.

Doesn't matter as long as you have food in your stomach.

20 minutes is a too litle time ....for me i stay at least an hour after a solid meal....maybe sometimes if i don't have time to wait then it's ok to work out in 30 minutes or so..

His original question was if eating 20 minutes AFTER a workout was ok.

Ideally you want to eat as quickly as possible after you workout. You want some high quality carbs + protein with as little fat as possible. Id recomend a protein shake if you can get some whey + a blender:

Whey protein
Oats
skimmed milk
Banana

Stick it in a blender, blend it up and neck it, sharpish.

Job done.

Yeah that's my exact after workout formula, but I only use half of a banana.

Just make sure it's a good median time after you work out, you don't want to step out of the weight room and immediately slam down a thick shake 'cause you'll be tired bloated and belching, but you don't want to wait an entire hour either, so yeah 20-30 minutes after is prime, gives your muscles and heart rate time to relax enough to handle digesting a good shake or meal.

Pre-workout is a good time for some really lean protein, something thin like a scoop of whey and skim milk, and maybe a small dose of fruit for a natural sugar boost about an hour prior. Try and keep it about an hour prior so that you're not still trying to digest when you go to get intense with your workout, your stomach will thank you.
