errrmmm.... Some fruit at breakfast is good... But in my opinion it needs to be balanced with protein, fats and some starchy carbs... It at least needs to be combined with some protein and fiber!
Fruit is great - and 2-3 peices a day is excellent. But try to spread this through the day and make sure you are eating it with other things such as those proteins and fats.

On top of what has been said already, I would also try to get another meal in you a little sooner than 5 hours before you lift. I try to get a meal in me 30-60 minutes before hitting the gym; 5 hours is way too long.
