Ephedrine - not what it was cracked up to be?

There was a post recently about ephedrine , as used in the ECA stack for fatloss purposes, and how it apparently does not do what had been assumed, at least that 's what I thought - am I incorrect? can someone please explain? Unfurtunately, I did not have time to read it carefully enough - it was quite long -and put it off for later. Well, now I can't even find it anymore. Can someone please explain it to me?
 
Not sure if you mean a recent post or one of the past. I know for me that the last 2 Ephedra containing products don't seem to give me any kind of energy boost past the first use, and the first use is very minor. I've tried up to 75mg of ephedra at one sitting, and nothing.

Good old coffee does a little for me, which I usually have about an hour or so before workout, then just pay attention to water etc since that dehydrates you a little.

I get most of my pre-workout boost from music and good old psyche pump up.

Have you actually tried ephedrine?

And you sure you weren't using a norephedrine product? Cause norephedrine, being a brilliant appettite suppressor, is not thermogenic in humans. Rats, yes. Humans, no.
 
Ripped Fuel was given to me as an example of a product that works wonders for alot of people, and for me it does nothing. I don't see norephedrine on the product, are you talking about ephedrine alkaloids or ?
 
And ripped fuel is what you're saying does nothing for you?

P.s. ephedrine is an alkaloid.

Think of it like this: Ephedra = herb. Ephedrine = active part.
 
Ripped Fuel:
Zinc 25mg
Guarana Seed Extract 910mg
(standardized 22% caffeine)
MaHuang Extract 334 mg
(standardized 20mg ephedra alkaloids - aerial parts)
Chrysin (Dihydroxyflavone) 125mg
Green Oat Extract 125mg
DHEA 25mg

I've also tried a product that is Ephedra only, went to 75mg, and nada. I feel 'something' the first day, after that first dose though, the stuff doesn't do anything for me detectably.
 
Can you get plain old ephedrine from the petrol stations round where you are?

If so, try and get a hold of some basic 25mg ephedrine tabs.

And put together your own stack.

25mg ephedrine.
200mg caffiene.
2g L-Tyrosine.
wash it down with a cup of green tea, or get yourself some green tea extract.

See if that lights your fuse.
 
The "plain old" that I have is:

Ma Huang Extract (Ephedra Sinica), 6% Ephedrine alkaloids = 15mg (per tab), is this ok or is this the crappy type?
 
I'm not saying ephedra is crappy, only if you get the ephedrine you know exactly what you're taking in.

That stuff should be ok.

And since you seem to be so resistant to it you could try taking two at a time to get 30mg ephedrine.

If you're gonna drink your green tea then fine, but if you're taking the green tea extract i'm trying to find dosage recommendation.

I'm thinking between 150-300mg, but i'm not sure if this is over the entire day or with each 'stack' ingestion.

If you do opt for the GT extract then start off with say 50-100mg and assess how you feel. If you think you can hack it, then up the dosage a bit.

Are you after a good energy burst for your training? If so, then just take the stack sparingly ie before training.

If you're after thermogenic effects then take it upwards of thrice daily.

Mostly after sustained energy, I've done up to 75mg of the last Ephedra product I mentioned, and got nothing out of it (but again it was by itself, with a cup of coffee, maybe 100mg caffeine). I've tried going off it for days, and even my first time using it after a number of months (from using Ultimate Orange in the past), I did get a mild boost from 30mg, but by the second time using it I feel nothing, almost as if the whole effect was in my head, or what I dunno.

That`s weird alot of the stuff you have in the US you can`t get in Canada but we do have ephedrine here, go figure. :confused:

Are you asking the difference between ephedra dn ephedrine?

If so, i told you earlier.

Ephedra = the herb, ephedrine = the active alkaloid of the herb.

Just like Yohimbe = the herb and yohimbine = the active part.
 
Which sounds like saying that they are one and the same, if the active part is the only important part, is it? Or is it lesser?
 
Think of it like caffeine (active part) from coffee and make your own mind up.

Coffee is good, but caffeine only comes more concentrated and you know exactly what dose you're getting.

Some people also claim to have (side) effects from other alkaloids in these herbs, but research at least, shows that there are benefits to be derived from these particular substances and not other alkaloids (at present).

It's up to you.

Personally, i'd rather have the active parts in doses that i'm aware of.
 
Ditto to TCD. I have tried both and find the straight ephedrine to be far superior.

True, lol.. I would like to get lots of stuff from the states that isn't here.. but it's kinda hard w/out a charge card :( .. lol

I can still get the 25mg Ephedrine from a place near by.. they changed the limit to 8mg now.. not many places get the normal 25mg anymore. hard to find :(
