Fedor/Hendo

The op could'nt find it.

I doubt the OP looked very hard. It's the most posted in thread in sports forum history and it's usually one of the top 3-4 threads.

That makes the op even more stupid and the mods stupid for not doing their jobs and moving this thread.

This place should be closed down.

Here. This guy disagrees with both of us. He's generally a douche bag, but I see his point. He outlines that the majority of people who have an opinion on the stoppage, see it as a good one. He also makes a case for the minority who saw it as bad.

Herb Dean's Stoppage Of Fedor Vs. Henderson More Imperfect Than Good Or Bad - MMA Nation

He makes a very good case for what its worth. I dont like the stoppage. I understand the stoppage, without any information. You responded to MY facebook to which I explained, yet you are steadfast in your decision. Thats fine. I know you and know thats how you roll.

Making a personal attack in a discussion declares a loss. You cant convince me to not have an open mind. I see how he lost, I know how he lost, and I wanted more seconds to secure that loss. I took the information that was handed to me by that broadcast and compared it to what Ive seen in the past. I did not substitute that reality with my own.

But what do I know? I went to college and got dumber because I have an opinion that wont be bullied down. I got dumber because I could see other plausible possibilites. I got dumber for looking at one thing and seeing that one thing and possibly another.

Thanks. Pal.

Oh, gawd. We've known each other for over 20 years and had plenty of discussions like this. I'm not saying anything different here than I would in person. You know my personality and 90% of the shit I say is tongue-in-cheek. This isn't a competition, it's a discussion. I agree with the stoppage and supply hard facts as to why it was a good stoppage and you disagree with the facts and the rules of MMA. I understand, I get it. I'm not trying to "bully" anyone or hurt anyone's feelings, I'm just having a hard time grasping the idea that you don't see what everyone else does when they look at that clip, whether they agree with the stoppage or not, everyone pretty much agrees that Fedor was out for a split second.

I really think this debate is just the nature of the beast in MMA. It is difficult to determine where a stoppage should happen in this sport. It is not cut and dried. I felt the stoppage was good. As an ex-boxer, I do tend to say err on the side that protects the fighter. Not comparing the value of the two sports in any way, but as an example, in boxing the decision to count someone out is very clear. If you hit the deck, you have until the count of ten to get up, even if you fall forward. The determination is far more difficult in MMA. It is rare for someone to get up from this kind of knockdown, but it does happen. In MMA it is far more vague. The determination whether or not the fighter can defend themselves has to be made very quickly, and human error will happen on occasion. Maybe if there was an automatic rematch clause in such cases, this wouldn't be such an issue. If the matter is in debate, just have the two fighters fight again. As I already said, I do think the stoppage was good, but I see that either way it is a matter of opinion, or at the very least a matter of judgment. The round was very entertaining, and I think the fans would be the likely winner if they would just fight again. After all, judging from the last meeting, it wouldn't take long.

You dont know that. I see what you mean, but you dont, I dont, MC doesnt, and most of all, Herb doesnt know if thats a certainty.

Shit, bio, Ive seen you debate about anything and everything. I think you just like to argue. I wouldnt be surprised that you go from thread to thread and possibly person to person to find arguments where there is no definite side, giving you the chance to pick a side and debate.

I wouldn't say I like to argue any more than anyone else here at IM forums. including yourself.

Herb doesn't know if that's a certainty? maybe that's why his job is to protect the fighters. After seeing the clip of Fedor unable to stand without assistance it's pretty obvious he was unable to defend himself and herb dean saved him from getting his brain rattled more. that's just fact to anyone watching these clips other than yourself.

Do you think that Fedor was unconscious face down on the canvas not defending himself? If the answer is yes to that question, and the video tape clearly shows that to be the case then the fight is over and the ref should stop the fight in order to protect the fighter.

As a fighter, who trains with UFC fighters I feel very confident in saying this time you are wrong. I think you know you are wrong, and you have such a difficult time admitting it that you will argue it for the sake of argument. I love a healthy debate, if there really are two sides, but this one is cut and dry.

Had there been a boxing 10 count system in place does anyone here think that Fedor could have beaten the 10 count?

unable to stand without assistance? yeah getting punched in the back of the head repeatedly might do that to someone.....

Think of it this way kiddos, if this was a legal matter, do you believe without a shadow of reasonable doubt that Fedor was knocked out?

Doesnt matter now anyway, well never know:

White: Fedor Cut from Strikeforce

yes, yes I do. I would convict if I was in that jury, and i would sleep soundly that night knowing the right decision had been made.

Still not moved.

Wake up Mods!

So how many people are going to complain about the shots to the back of the head akiyama just took?
