I wanted to get some informed opinions on a subject I've been thinking, asking and observing. Not to sound cocky, because it's not meant to, but I've noticed alot of the guys in my age range, whom don't work out or just do light stuff, and even some who do heavy, their build is alot lighter and less massed up than mine, however when I look at guys from the gym who are atleast 3 or 4 years and more older than me, like their arms and pecs are massive, twice the size of mine, and as hard as I go I never gain that much. I asked a couple peopl if that as you grew older and stopped growing in height and stuff if your muscles or soemhting started filling out and they agreed that that is what happens, and I just wanted to say what the people hear thought. I'm really hoping to get some massive gains when I'm older in my 20's or so, so do you fill out as your grow and your muscles bulge a bit more, and pecs come together, and do the nipple/aereola part of your chest, like harden up? I know mine is kinda puffy except when its cold or whatever :rolleyes:, lol, etc? Thanks alot for any opinions.

It is called muscle maturity..........As you age your muscles will get more developed and full.....at leats that is what they say..........lol

But what if you started lifting at an early age, say 14. Will your muscles still fill out? What I'm saying is if you'v built yourself up beyond what you'd be without lifting will they still fill out beyond that or just refuse to shrink below what they would've been naturally filled out without lifting.

I don't think you have to worry RC. I was wondering too, but from all the observations I've made, even guys who started lifting early have matured like funk says. Schwarzanegger, I don't know if you know him, he was an amteur bodybuilder and now a wreslter, but John Cena, started lifting at 12 or 13 and he's totally out there in sense of filling out. You and me are close in age, I think it all comes down to waiting till your full grown (Height) and then you start to fill, wiaitng sucks, lol.

i think it's good to weight.. let your body develop.. i started when i was 5th grade.. benching, military press, lots of bicep, and some tricep.. but luckly, i didn't do it enough to deter my growth.. started again my sophmore year but for me, i was already big.. like 6' and 200+.. but i have a buddy now who also started like 15 and now he's at his plateau and must resort to supplements.. i think if u wait, your muscles will respond much better

Well, I'm 17, so it shouldn't be to big of a deal, started lightly when i was 14 and 15, really serious now, but if I couldn't go the the gym, I'd like rip my head off or something, I have to go now, lol.

man, i just had a cast taken off a lil over a month ago.. omg, u have no idea how much that sucked.. had the cast on for a month.. i was so anxious to hit the gym

I knew someone in high school that was about as full as you can get, however he was "using" and yes he started early. My arms have been to 18.5" and they are not extroidinairly thick yet, but yes they do get overall more massive. I am 27 years old, it just takes time, and raw mass. Depending on your height you probably wont be happy till you hit 17-19", when I was younger I kept thinking the next inch was going to be the magical one, and its not that simple. Mass also does not increase in a linear amount as you increase each inch forward, it is not a linear measurement. So each additional inch is harder to obtain than the last for that reason as well as just the fact that your fighting your body to do things it is not made to do naturally.

This follows the same laws and reasoning that someone 6 foot instead of someone 5 foot is not only an additional 20% bodyweight but may be much more, mass does not increase linearly.
