I had shattered my wrist in a car accident back in march that I'm still trying to recover from. Mobility is terrible and I have some major pain issues from irritation in the tendon running to my thumb. As stated in the title, I'm finally getting a cortisone shot today. I really can't wait to see how much this helps, because it's definately affecting my lifts obviously, not to mention it's messing with my sleep patterns.

Am I expecting to much from the cortisone, or are these things a wonder relief?

I hope you get some relief from the cortisone shot. I've had them in my feet, elbow, shoulder and spine and found they're virtually worthless but that's my experience. They're supposed to act as a very localized anti-inflammatory and I suppose they do work to a degree but they haven't been very helpful to me.

I had 2 of them in my lower back. It took about a week to kick in. They worked so so for about 4 months. If you are in agony it might be worth it.

No shot for me... they told me I gotta go back under the knife. Apparently one of the screws in the holding the plate to the bone is too long and digging in to the tendon. Now they gotta cut me open and take all that shit out. Hopefully it fixes the issues, but it blows I'll be out of the game for a few weeks.

Get Supartz instead. It's a 5 injection process, but I had my knee done after YEARS of issues and NO pain a year later.

oops, just read your reply... I have had 4 operations on the plates/screws in my leg, so I feel ya. Good luck!
