Every time I do Calf Raises, the middle of my feet gets this tight cramping feeling. Its even happened in the middle of spin class but i didnt have my feet positioned correctly. I always push through it but My trainer told me to ask my doctor about this bc it may not be a big deal now but it may lead to walking funny or something.
Does this happen to anybody else?

maybe your arches are falling

could be a problem with your arches.

could be a problem with the mechanics of your foot leading to tightenging of the plantar fascia and the intrinsic muscles of the foot.

try rolling the bottom of the foot with a tennis ball or golf ball (about 60sec on each foot) and find tender spots or nots. Then stretch the calves.

great, thanx!

another thing that i find to work well with my runners it to take an empty water bottle (like a small poland spring bottle or something). Fill it up with water and freeze it. Then, you can roll the bottom of your foot on it (especially after training). That way you get some compression and soft tissue work AND the added benefit of the ice for anti-inflammatory purposes.
