I train it like anything else pretty much, once a week 2-3 sets for me. Just make sure you dont go overly heavy and hurt yourself, in the long term not just short term. Also, there is no need to bring the fingers into the movement, just use the wrist.
 
That does work for some people, if I dont train each bodypart though they shrivel down to nothing and get soft after a few weeks.
 
I train forearms every couple weeks...soemtimes more but always do them after back that way they're pre-exhausted. I do 3 sets for flexors and 3 sets for extensors....but you have to develop a whole new level of pain threshold to see real progress.....go BEYOND failure.

i train forearms once a week. about once a month i add another day.

i do forearm work how Fit Freak described, but i don't stop until i can't move them.
