Get the Duct Tape...I'm Ripped Again!
A few days ago on my B-day....I tried a smidgen of a few of the newer bars we got in. :Iswearjustapiece:

Balance:

Gold Triple Chocolate Chaos:

Didn't like it at first...had an after taste crossed between coconut oil and chocolate liquor......but after a few bites........... It's Pretty Damn Good (not as good as the Carmel Nut Blast)


Peanut Butter......OMG...they hit it...if you like P-nut Butter, try this bar.....not Honey or Yogurt Honey Peanut..this is new

Balance Satisfaction Bars: A high carb, Cliff like bar but crispy not granola-ey......ALL FLAVORS are good :thumb: Chocolate Crisp and Apple Cinnamon being the best!


Judy's L/C Chocolates.....The English Toffee rocks :D The Cashew and Pecans clusters are awesome!

Then you have no frame of Reference....I have over 60 bars....considered to be the "Bar Headquarters" and btw The "L/C Headquarters" for my area....and before the Detour Bar.....CNB outsold every bar 3, maybe 5 to one!

I don't remember what Balance bars I tried. I got them free from one of those charity MS Bike Tours. I know the ones I tried did not have caramel and nuts. I'll have to find one and try it. Repost coming soon!

Good thread! Just in time for my vaca! I need some bars to nibble on when I'm on the beach tanning and too lazy to walk to my room to get something to eat! :D

Will have to take one of each to try!
 
vacation doesn't seem like the best time to be trying out some of theses bars. you might find yourself walking to your room to do something else!

First choice....the New Balance P-nut Butter I mentioned in the first post...Then Cliff PB & J....then the new Balance Satisfaction P-nut Butter as a toss-up for second place...Balance Satisfacion may be better

Last choice...Balnce Outdoor P-nut Butter (only if you have too)

ALL uncoated! :D

I just bought balance bar honey peanut (uncoated) - I couldn't find the peanut butter one.
 
Just bought a box of "Think Thin Low Carb bar" in Peanut butter Lite. On sale for $16 for 10 bars....Have you heard of it DP?

3 g carbs
20g prot
10g fat

240 cals

The only bar so far that I can tolerate so far in taste and digestion...ofcourse I haven't tried the infamous Detour :D
 
what is the best bar to have on the high protein/mod fat/low carb diet.
obviously the bar as to be super low carb to keep carbs under 30g, any suggestions?

if you don't have time is it good to substitute your shake for a bar (if yes), than which one is the best to serve the purpose??
 
As long as we understand, food first, shakes second, bar....not BARS...only as a last resort :D

The trouble with nearly all the low carb bars...is that with the new labeling laws...if it is not protein, fat, fiber or ash....it has to be placed in the carb count (not necessarily the sugar count)...so any sugar alcohol. ie...maltitol, sorbitol, xylitol, glycerol is going to appear now on the label! ALL OF THOSE are not recommended on a cut!

So the best answer to your question is NO BAR I'm saying this in this way to you because you are pre-contest...(it is Dec btw :D).........String Cheese, nuts, etc if you have to! :D :p

FYI....Lina....that bar has 230 cals....20 P AND 10 F ALTHOUGH THEY SAY ONLY 80 F CALORIES...so they use 3 C and when you total this you get 172-182 in cals....leaving 48-58 caloires of MALTITOL and GLYCERIN (see your label)....:(
