^ thats bro science right there. To many other factors like umm metabolic rate that place a huge role in it. My cousin can eat 4 pizzas a day and maintain his weight and stay lean, but he can not get big not matter how much he eats. Not saying he cant get big its just he physically can not grow with the amount of food it would take for him to grow hes not willing to step up to that level, where i grow like a fucking horse eating below maintenance.

My trainer knows some about cycles from people he has worked with but not actually done one himself. He is preparing for his first competition and is only 21 so that should explain why. He is certified and we train at golds. I'm thinking of stopping the cycle at week 8. By then with my current weight gain I will have gained 20lbs. I keep a log of what I eat and every time we meet he looks at it. I'll keep training, pct, and just keep eating. To be honest I didn't think I'd gain like I am so there isn't a need to do 12 weeks. I'm not holding a lot of water so maybe I'll keep 15 lbs and continue to gain with food. Thanks s2h for the edit. I didn't start my diet until I started my cycle, so if I would have just stuck to that I was destined to gain from the start given my natural genetic weight. I just got stuck in my head that I gotta get bigger I gotta run this cycle.

Tool: Calorie calculator - MayoClinic.com

They should change their name to Bro Science Clinic. Your friend telling you he eats 4 pizzas is probably the b.s. not the science of calorie intake. Hes probably eating a lot one day a week and less than maintenance the rest of the week. My biological brothers are both non gainers and they both say they eat a lot but actually living with them, they dont. Granted everyone is different. Nasser said he can maintain/grow on 100 grams of protein a day. Ive actually heard that from many very big people. But calorie intake is like the table of elements. It has a ton of study behind it and people use it literally every day for work. The reason you might think its b.s. is because there are tons of other factors attributed to muscle growth. A friend I trained with for about a year couldnt gain muscle, ate a fair amount, and resolved to take steroids to gain some muscle. All he had to do was quit drinking 3-4x a week he wouldve gotten bigger.

Im glad youre gaining and 20lbs wont be bad. But if I was you and obviously Im not but my 2 cent... Get up to 190-200+ before you start your next cycle. If it takes a year or two so be it. But you can do it. If youre really serious and this working out thing isnt just a fad for you then consistency will pay off more than gear will.

you do understand what metabolic rate is? Yes saying some one will gain 1lb a day if they eat x amount of food is ludicrous. If that was true, there would be no reason for kids to get put on growth hormones, people to take AAS and ect. And yes my cousin's macros are actually higher then mine. He does MMA well use to and actually had to cut out some of high cardio for him to make weight. Being a small time MMA fighter some times you have to jump classes just to get a fight. He is an extremely hard gainer and has an extremely high metabolic rate. So telling some one if they eat this they will gain this is stupid. You can good shit all you want and i have heard some of the stupidest shit said by bodybuilders in the past... Like Kevin Levrone saying fish makes your skin thin...

Yea thats why theres not one setting. Theres inactive, somewhat active, active, very active. If youre extremely active it will be even higher. If you arent gaining weight you simply arent consuming more calories than youre burning up. There is no reason kids are put on things like growth hormones other than rare medical disorders or parents trying to undo their shitty genetics and making the kid bigger. Everyone in the bodybuilding world is just calling any idea bro science now. So what do they listen to? For every study there's a counter study. For every idea there's a counter idea. Who do I listen to? Mostly logic. But people who do something like nutrition every day for a living and use things like calorie calculators are usually a good source to listen to. You can deny anything you ever hear. Christians deny the table of elements, evolution, the earth being older than a few thousand years old. And anyways if you did the math setting the OP's original weight and calories and the setting of "active" he is very close to what it would predict. Also, a diet heavy on fish would probably lower your bodyfat, making your skin appear thinner. And now that Im thinking about that having lived in a fishing community a lot of commercial fisherman have very thin looking skin....Interesting. Of course they dont eat they only drink ha.
