In my imagination.
These are actual acronyms used at my job

PSLA - Please see last action
SLA - See last action
PSA5 - Please see action 5
SL5A - See last 5 actions
PSLFew - See last few actions
WOL - Went online
GOL - Gone online
LM - Left Message
LVM - Left voice message

WHHWGOLLVMCPCB - What had happened was, gone online, left a voice message, and closed pending call back.

All of these are in use everyday when I read through trouble tickets. There are about a 100 more, but I don't feel like typing them out.

LOL. On my current job, we have an acronym with 3 different meanings. :mooh:

AWOL, Asshole Went OnLine?

Or, OffLine perhaps.

working in the defense sector the DoD acronyms were equally ridiculous....although that last one you wrote up there was a bit over the top

what a snafu!

I swear, it is like leet speak for professionals. I have a hard time believing people are so busy that they can't take an extra 2 minutes out of their day to type this shit out. Two minutes would cover an entire day's worth of half assing the documentation of critical situations.

DoD is probably used in the porn industry too.

Same with broadcasting and electronics. A lot of acronyms have multiple means also. Like PL, (private line), (party line), (public line). Or PA, (power amp), (production assistant).

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Having been in the USN then IT and now PV I have an overload of abbv, Acronyms and formulas....

CPU isn't the same depending on the product, it can mean Central Power Unit, Circuit Protection-Ungrounded, Cost Per Unit, etc....

MPPT, PSW, PV, GTw/BATTBU, SAPV, BIPV, PWM, AGM, LVDSCNCT, SLA, VSLA

Solar Modules have these plus more....
Pmax, Voc, Impp, Vmpp, Vsc, Isc, STC, NOCT, V, A, W, NEC, UL, IEEE, ISO, Cal/cm² - BTU/ft² - PSHr, kN/m², kWh, Nom.V, kWp

One of our old usernames used to be "assprod" short for Associate Producer. We had a lot of fun with that name - everyone here starts as an assprod and works up to manager. I used to be "masscon" for Master Control.

We also re-named all our managers after sugary cereals. So now I have Froot Loops and Lucky Charms. They tend to go on these massive sugar rushes every now and then, and that is when we get craploads of breaking news about dumb ass shit. We covered the last plane crash in New York like it was in our viewing area - wall to wall live and press conferences - they must have snorted mountains of sugar and baby powder (I swear they must be doing lines somewhere). I call my News Director the Head AIC (asshole in charge). He earned it.
