"MLB.com reported that the slugger will re-sign with the Giants in a one-year deal expected to be worth $16 million, pending a physical."

no surprise here...he's old and hated in ballparks outside of the Bay Area

$16 million for 20-25 home runs and 80 RBI?

If his options were so limited, then why was he able to get a $16 million contract?

I hope he sits. Injury, w/e, he doesnt deserve the record.

No, $16 million for the revenue generated from 60 sold out games after the All Star break for a team that won't remotely be in playoff contention.

true story! I think it is a great idea. He is going to break the record and people are going to pay big bucks to see it.

I think its pretty obvious at this point that he will get the record, hell its the only thing he is playing for. He told his manager numerous times last year he wasnt going to pinch hit then play the field, he was saw sleeping in the lockeroom before and during games. Hes a chump and I wish no one wouldve signed him at all.

And about 200 walks.

We should get a pool going on which pitcher will give up the record homer.

People seem to conveniently forget that you are innocent until proven guilty in this country. They've been after Barry for years and have spent millions of our taxpayers money and they have nothing on the guy.

ESPN was all over the airwaves a few months ago claiming an indictment was a week away. Nothing happened and they never recanted their story. Now they've started ANOTHER grand jury and what have they found? NOTHING.

I will be clapping when he breaks the record and shuts up the media and all the other hypocrites out there.
