This is just a random story/experience I've had this holiday season that I'd like to share with my fellow weight lifters. It deals with bulking and the holidays.
Well I've been training for about 8 months now, and started getting really serious about 4 months ago. Anyways, my goal for a while has been to bulk up because I just want to get bigger and more muscular, but was having a hard time doing so.
I usually train 4 days a week, lifting as heavy as possible and finishing off with about 30 mins of cardio. I felt great and was losing weight but very slowly, which was good I figured since I was gaining muscle in the process. However, I didn't see the large bulk that I really wanted and began to get a little discouraged.
A week or two before Thanksgiving came around, I just said "the hell with it, I'm gonna eat whatever I want" but keep training and not really worry about cardio. My diet used to consist of majorly healthy foods with the occasional outing of dinner to Chili's and Applebee's, places like that, and I used to eat 5 times a day small meals.
Since then I feel like i have bulked up quite a bit. I feel alot bigger than I did before, just by eating what I want. I think in February I'm gonna start cutting and try to lose about 20 lbs or so. I'm currently 23, 5"8 and weigh 218.
So I just wanted to share the joy of eating with you guys. I'm not extremely happy because I still want to slim down a good amount, but I definitely thinking eating alot, and eating alot of garbage has helped me increase my mass.
I hope this little excerpt of food will help you guys with your journey to the world of mass.
